Ponakovs Turns a Set

Level 26 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Pedro Padilha opened to 650,000 from under the gun and Aleksejs Ponakovs called from the button.

The AQ7 flop checked through to the 10 turn. Padilha bet 575,000 and Ponakovs called, bringing in the 8 river. Padilha fired out another 900,000. After some thought, Ponakovs made it 3,350,000.

Padilha was bluffing with K9 and folded. Ponakovs had 1010 for a set of tens and was searching for value.

Level 25 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Manuel Fritz AK opened to 500,000 from under the gun and Ye Wang K4 defended his big blind.

Fritz made top two on the AK6 flop, with Wang having middle pair and some backdoor opportunities. The latter check-called for 450,000, bringing in the 10 turn for Fritz to seal the checkmark. Wang check-folded to a bet of 1,475,000.

Pedro Padilha raised to 550,000 from the button, and when it folded to Yang Wang in the big blind, he three-bet all in for his stack of 3,200,000. Padilha snap-called to put Wang at risk.

Yang Wang: A9 All in
Pedro Padilha: AA

Wang ran right into the aces of Padilha, and there was no miracle runout this time, as the board came 55K3K and Padilha would take the pot, eliminating Wang in seventh place.

Roiter Doubles Through Wang

Level 25 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Ye Wang opened to 550,000 from the cutoff and was called by Pedro Padilha from the small blind. Klemens Roiter then shoved for 2,575,000 from the big blind. Wang called after some thought before Padilha folded his AJ.

Klemens Roiter: AJAll in
Ye Wang: K10

Despite being behind, the good news for Wang was that two of Roiter's cards were already accounted for but the 832 flop offered no help. Roiter remained ahead following the Q turn and locked up the double after the J river.

Parssinen Flops a Set to Double Through Wang

Level 25 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Ye Wang raised to 500,000 from early position and was called by Eelis Parssinen in the big blind.

The flop came K104 Parssinen check-called a bet of 350,000 from Wang.

After the 8 on the turn, Wang bet out 1,200,000 and Parssinen quickly moved all in for just 200,000 more, and Wang called to put him at risk.

Eelis Parssinen: 44 All in
Ye Wang: AJ

Parssinen flopped a set and would need to only fade the gut shot Broadway draw of Wang. The river brought the 7 and Parssinen secured the double up.

Manuel Fritz opened to 500,000 from early position and Jean-Noel Thorel defended the big blind.

Thorel check-called for 300,000 on the QQ8 flop, bringing in the 4 turn. Thorel did the same for 1,200,000.

The 6 river completed the board, and a third check came from Thorel. He had 3,000,000 behind and Fritz wanted it all, jamming as the bigger stack. Thorel, after some thought, called for his tournament life.

Thorel hero-called with 65 but his queens and sixes were no good as Fritz tabled KK.

Wang Stays Hot

Level 25 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Ye Wang raised to 500,000 from early position with 1010, which was just called by Manuel Fritz on his left, holding AQ.

The flop came K6K keeping Wang in front but giving Fritz a flush draw. Wang opted to bet out 425,000, and Fritz made the call.

The turn brought the 10 giving Wang a full house, and Wang bet out 875,000, which Fritz again called.

Fritz bricked his flush draw but did make a pair on the Q river. Wang then sized up with a bet of 3,400,000, and Fritz took his time before mucking his pair, allowing the pot to go to Wang.
