A flop {5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades} appeared and Sethi bet 500 after her opponent checked. The latter called and the turn {6-Clubs} went check-check.

The river fell a {q-Diamonds} and after a last check from her opponent Sethi bet 1,100. It was enough to make her opponent muck his cards.

Lawrence Brandt raised to 300 from the button and it was called by Kim Stone in the big blind.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Stone check-called Brandt's continuation for 800. Both players checked on the turn {7-Spades}.

The river was the {k-Spades} and Stone check-called a bet worth 1,500 from Brandt. The latter showed {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} bust lost the pot when Stone tabled {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Day 1b of Event #34: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’em Kicks Off at 10 a.m.

Welcome back to Day 1b of Event #34: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’Em.

Yesterday, 2,944 hopefuls were whittled down to 1,096 during 11 hours of play. Juan M. Esirviez was the Day 1a chip leader, bagging a hefty 530,000. Sunny Chattha followed with 478,000. Only at the end of play today will it be determined whether Esirvieez remains the overall chip leader as they head into Day 2, or if today will produce a new one.

Players are starting with 40,000 in chips, blinds beginning at 100/100 blinds. There will be eleven levels taking place on Day 1b, each lasting 60 minutes with a single re-entry permitted. There will be a 75-minute dinner break after the end of the sixth level, at approximately 4:40 p.m. Late registration is open until the start of Level 10 (approximately 10:35 p.m. local time).

Last year, the first-ever World Series of Poker Double Stack event crowned the local high-stakes poker pro Robert Peacock, along with a bankroll boost of $644,244.

Cards for this exciting event start hitting the felt at 10 a.m. local time in the Brasilia and Amazon rooms. Day 2 will resume on Sunday, June 16 at 12 p.m for10 levels of play with the combined survivors of both starting days.
