Polatcheck Gets a Fold from Castaneda

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Julie Polatcheck opened under the gun to 700 and it folded to Jose Castaneda in the big blind who called. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{q-Spades} and both checked.

On the turn {k-Spades}, Castaneda led for 1,600 and after a minute Polatchek called. The river {8-Hearts} completed the board and Castaneda bet 2,500 but let it go when Polatchek opted to raise it to 7,500.

A Lucky Turn for Meredith

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

In what was one of the first, but definitely not the last, aces versus kings confrontations, Toby Meredith emerged victorious with a little help from the poker gods. After a series of preflop raises and re-raises Meredith got it all in for his tournament life with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} against the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} of John Longoria.

The {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop offered no help to Meredith, but the {k-Diamonds} on the turn gave him new life, and the {6-Clubs} river secured his double-up to almost twice the starting stack.

Bad Start for Torbay

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

The board read {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds} with already around 5,000 in the middle when Torbay bet 3,200 from the cutoff after his opponent checked. The latter called after a long tank and a {2-Diamonds} fell on the river. This time Torbay's opponent led for 5,000 and Torbay called, but mucked his hand when his opponent showed {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for the straight.

Kade Forces a Fold

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

The board read {6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and the pot contained already around 9,000 when Vanessa Kade raised to 9,000 a bet worth 2,100 from her opponent, putting him into a decision.

After a few minutes, Kade's opponent ended up folding his cards, revealing {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} and Kade took down the pot.

McLaughlin's Four-bet is Enough

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

After preflop action folded to Anthony McLaughlin in the hijack position, he raised to 600 and was called by Ebony Kenney from the next seat over in the cutoff. Matthew Fraser then three-bet to 2,000, which was met with a quick four-bet to 6,000 from McLaughlin. Kenney folded and Fraser thought for a moment but then mucked his cards.
