Cordeiro Misses

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Picking up the action after the turn of a {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{j-Clubs} board with about 4,000 in the pot, the player in the big blind checked to Marle Cordeiro who bet 2,200 from early position. Her opponent in middle position called and the big blind folded.

The river was the {q-Diamonds}, Cordeiro bet 6,500 and her opponent called.

Cordeiro tabled {7-Spades}{6-Spades}, while her opponent showed {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} for a set of queens to win the pot.

McDonald Sets Up Azzahti

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

On a flop of {8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades}, Mohamed Azzahti checked under the gun, Mike McDonald checked on his immediate left, and Matthew Wright put in a bet for 6,000.

Azzahti raised all-in for his remaining 40,300, McDonald called, and Wright got out of the way. "I've got it," said McDonald as the players put their holdings on the table.

Mohamed Azzahti: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Mike McDonald: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Azzahti had bottom set, but unfortunately for the Frenchman McDonald had it even better with the top set of kings. The turn {q-Diamonds} and river {6-Spades} sealed the deal, sending Azzhati home and chipping McDonald up to 158,000.

Klein Pushes Out Three Opponents

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Four players saw a flop of {q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Action checked around. The turn was the {9-Diamonds}. Bill Klein bet 4,500 from middle position. The player on his immediate left thought it over for a while before folding and the other two players in the hand quickly folded when action got to them.

Hasson Stacking Up

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

A player raised to 600 from early position, and was called by the hijack, Robert Mizrachi in the cutoff, and the small blind. Gary Hasson three-bet to 2,900 in the big blind, and the early position player called. The hijack folded, Mizrachi called, and the small blind came along as well.

The small blind checked a {5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop, and Hasson bet 4,100. One by one, his opponents folded, and Hasson took down the pot.

Deeb Takes a Hit

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Shaun Deeb and Gregory Robbins were on the river with {2-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} on display. Deeb lead for 2,500 and one player folded. After deliberating for 30 seconds or so, Robbins raised to 11,000 and Deeb made a quick call. Robbins turned over {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for two pair on the turn that improved to a full house and Deeb couldn't beat it, sending his cards into the muck.

Robbins had already dropped a lot at that point, telling PokerNews, "I desperately needed those 11,000."

Fast Improves at Every Street

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Dietrich Fast was in a hand three-way on the flop with {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} out. He checked to Sharman Olshan and she bet 1,100, which both he and the other player called. On the {3-Clubs} turn Olshan barreled for 5,000 and Fast check-called but the other player passed.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Fast lead for 12,000 into the pot. Sharman called but couldn't beat Fast's {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a turned straight that improved to the nut flush on the river.

Cada Bluffs Nearly Everything Off

2009 Main Event champion and four-time bracelet winner Joe Cada, who just missed out on his fifth bracelet last night in Event #70: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, was active in a hand against Yoshiya Agata with action already on the river. The board was reading {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Agata had a bet of 7,000 in front of him. Cada check-raised all in, putting Agata to the test for his entire stack of 48,100.

After thinking for several minutes, Agata called it off with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Cada showed {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a pair turned into a bluff, tapped the table, put his gold headphones on and made his way out of Pavilion White.

The dealer and several players at the table quickly urged Cada to get back; he had, in fact, Agata covered by 5,800 and is still alive in the 2019 Main Event. After finishing 5th in the Main Event last year, he has his work cut out for him if he's to make a similar run this time around.

Turn Bet Win for Chan

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Terrence Chan opened to 600 from middle position and Orod Ashegh called in the hijack.
