Adam Friedman

Seven Card Stud

Ap Garza: {x-}{x-} / {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Adam Friedman: {x-}{x-} / {4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{k-Spades}folded on fifth street

Ap Garza bet on fourth street and Adam Friedman called. After Garza paired his five and bet on fifth street, Friedman exposed a {4-} and mucked. Garza showed buried {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and took down the pot.

Omaha Hi-Lo

"I don't think I'm going to be bluffing anyone," said Friedman on the next hand with 40,000 in the middle and 50,000 behind. John Racener raised and Scott Bohlman called in the big blind. Friedman called in the big blind and then got his last 10,000 chips in on the {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop.

Racener and Bohlman both called and the two players checked down the {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} board.

John Racener: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} - Two pair (aces and sevens); No low
Scott Bohlman: {9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} - Pair of deuces; Seven-four low
Adam Friedman: {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} - Two pair (aces and deuces); seven-six low

"Two pair and a low, huh?" said Friedman before getting to his feet after being eliminated.

Garza Gets Friedman to Fold Flush Heavy Board

Level 16 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Seven Card Stud

Ap Garza: {x-}{x-} / {j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} / {x-}
Adam Friedman: {x-}{x-} / {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts} / {x-}

What seemed to run out as a rather standard hand culminated in a crazy twist as Ap Garza managed to get Adam Friedman to fold a four-heart open board.

It was Friedman who bet all the way and Garza, on the other side of the table with a rather innocent jack-high board and just two clubs, called it down while he had the sunglasses on.

On seventh street, Friedman bet once more and Garza then raised! Friedman vaulted out of his chair in disbelief and counted his remaining 360,000 chips behind very carefully. He double-checked his cards and muttered an "holy shit".

Another two minutes passed and Friedman then asked "you see I have four hearts here, right?" to which Garza stood up from his chair, took off the sunglasses and stared at Friedman's board.

Friedman needed more time to think and apologised twice to the table but nobody was going to call the clock anyways. Ultimately, Friedman crumbled his board and tossed it into the muck.

Garza, now with the sunglasses back on, offered to reveal one card but Friedman instantly declined.

"You don't have to have hearts, I had three in my hand," Garza seemingly said and Scott Bohlman then chimed in. "You have heart for sure, you might be my new favourite," he concluded in table chat while Friedman was left with a very short stack.

Friedman Cannot Beat Aldemir

Level 16 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Koray Aldemir raised it up from under the gun to get called only by Adam Friedman in the big blind. Both players opted to check the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop and Friedman also checked the {6-Diamonds} on the turn. Aldemir placed a delayed continuation bet worth 85,000 only for a check-raise to 215,000 to follow.

Some fifty-five seconds passed thereafter and Aldemir called. The {2-Hearts} on the river was checked by Friedman and Aldemir quickly checked it back as Friedman tapped the table and pointed towards his opponent.

Aldemir revealed his {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for jacks and tens, which won the pot as Friedman mucked.

It was yet another setback for the mixed game specialist, as he dropped below a million in chips while John Racener now holds the biggest stack at the table narrowly ahead of Aldemir.

Mihael Moncek
Mihael Moncek

Pot-Limit Omaha

On a {7-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop Dan Cates, Michael Moncek and Johannes Becker all put 70,000 chips in the pot. THe turn {10-Hearts} checked to Becker on the button who bet 280,000.

Cates folded and Moncek check-shoved all in.

"Can I have a count?" asked Becker. "I'm probably calling." The count was 690,000 and Becker did indeed call.

Michael Moncek: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Johannes Becker: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Set over set saw Becker in the lead, but would have to sweat {x-Hearts} flush outs, among others. The river was the {j-Clubs} and Moncek was eliminated.

Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Stephen Chidwick raised under the gun and was three-bet by Yuri Dzivielevski on the button.

Chidwick called to see a flop of {j-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Spades}. The players each checked to see the {q-Diamonds} on the turn.

Chidwick then fired out a bet and was called by Dzivielevski.

On the river {6-Hearts}, Chidwick put in his last bet and was quickly called by Dzivielevski who called and instantly rolled over {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for a full house of sixes full of queens. Chidwick tossed his cards frustratedly into the muck and left the tournament floor.

Cates Gets One Through Against Ashton

Level 16 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Joining the action on the {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs} turn, Matthew Ashton checked out of the big blind and then called a bet worth 240,000 by Dan Cates from under the gun. Ashton also checked the {3-Diamonds} on the river and Cates then carefully prepared a bet.

Via double-fist push, Cates moved forward 575,000 for nearly half of his remaining stack and Ashton folded after brief a brief period of consideration. Once it was all done, Cates showed visible signs of relief which caused some smirks at the table.

Omaha Hi-Lo

Philip Sternheimer bet out of the small blind on a {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop and Naoya Kihara called. The turn {q-Clubs} saw Sternheimer bet again and Kihara also called.

The river was the {2-Spades} and Sternheimer bet. Kihara let out a large sigh, and extended his arms into the air.

"That's music to my ears," said Sternheimer, and after a short tank Kihara folded.
