With about 35,000 in the pot and the board reading 10♣A♣J♥3♠, Casey Brown checked and Andy Seth bet out for 10,000 from the button. Brown called, and the players saw the 5♦ fall on the river.
Seth went into the tank for a while before pushing out a bet of 13,500, which sent Brown into the tank, who eventually called. Seth tabled Q♣10♥10♦3♥ for a flopped set, and Brown mucked his cards.
James Chen, who was among the chip leaders after Day 1 of this event a year ago, is out after reentering it a second time.
Chen, who won a bracelet in the $1,500 Omaha hi-lo event in 2024, lasted just 16 minutes with his second bullet. At the end of the second break , Chen had not reregistered in an event that allows two reentries.
Michael Perrone entered a three-way all-in with hope, then gave up on the flop, believing Fergal Coyle or Peyman Luth surely had him beat.
Peyman Luth: J♣10♠9♥8♠
Michael Perrone: A♦K♠10♥7♦
Fergal Coyle: A♥J♥J♠2♦
But as the cards ran out, while Perron was trying to walk out, things changed. The board would end up reading 5♥5♠K♥7♥7♠ with running sevens to give Perrone a fullhouse.
A tablemate almost tackled him to bring him back.
"I didn't even see the runner-runner," a relieved Perrone said.
Poker's elite showed up to Event #42 with under two hours left for registration.
Alongside some of poker's familiar faces, 2013 Main Event Champion Ryan Riess doubled up versus Tolga Demirel.
As the action was picked up, on a flop of 10♦8♦2♦ Demirel bet 2,500 from the button and face a check-raise from Riess to 7,500 who glared at Demirel who called.
On the turn of the Q♦ Riess checked and put 50,000 in front of him enough to cover Riess who snap-called.
Ryan Riess: A♦Q♠8♥6♦
Tolga Demirel: 9♦5♠4♠3♠
Riess's nut flush had Demirel dominated with the river 6♠ changing nothing.
Alongside Riess here are some up-to-date chip counts from the Paris Las Vegas floor.
