Michael Weiss of Team Weiss found himself in the small blind and limped after action had folded to him. Samy Boujmala of Team Boujmala then raised from the big blind to 200,000. Weiss made the call, and the two went off to a flop of Q♦5♠A♣

Weiss checked it over, and Boujmala bet big, to a sizing of 550,000. Weiss called, then checked again on the 8♥ turn. Boujmala sized down to 400,000, and Weiss called again. The 4♦ peeled off on the river, and for a third time Weiss checked his option. Boujmala didn't take long before announcing "all in" and shoving a covering stack into Weiss.

Weiss went into the tank before eventually flicking over the call. Boujmala tabled A♦Q♥ instantly, and his rail cheered upon seeing Weiss' reluctance to show. His A♠6♥ was no good, as Boujmala became the table's chip leader.

Kristy Moreno of Team Moreno raised preflop and Maxwell Young of Team Jordison defended the big blind. The flop was 6♠4♠4♦ and Young checked. Moreno bet 155,000 and Young called.

The turn was the A♥ and Young checked again. Moreno bet 250,000, Young check-raised to 600,000, and Moreno called after some thought.

The river was the 8♦ and Young checked. Moreno checked behind and Young showed 8♠7♣ for the rivered pair of eights. Moreno had K♥Q♥ for king-high and Young scooped up the sizable pot.

Two consecutive hands between Mark Egbert and Derek Stark left one of their teams on the rail.

First, Egbert shoved from early position for almost 500,000 and Stark called on the button for his last 170,000.

Stark managed to win the flip as he ended the hand with trips on the 7♥K♥4♥K♦10♥ runout.

In the next hand, Egbert shoved from under the gun for 320,000 and Stark shoved the cutoff for 480,000.

Derek Stark: A♠K♥

Both players flopped a piece on K♦6♠9♠ and Egbert took he lead when he made two pair on the 7♣ turn. However, the K♣ on the river gave Stark trips, and ended Team Hubbard's run.

Hicham Mahmouki of Team Boujmala had action on him, and open-shoved from the button, covering both blinds by quite some way. David Hong of Team Hauptman made the call.

It was the second time in quick succession that Hong had been all in with ace-five, the second time his teammate Michael Hauptman had called for an ace, and the second time that they had hit top pair, as the 7♠Q♦A♦ flop put them in good stead to stay alive. The K♦ turn was the sweatiest card in the deck, as Mahmouki picked up a Royal Flush draw. He wouldn't hit it, but the J♣ for a straight was enough as he and teammate Samy Boujmala celebrated together.

On a completed board of 8♥7♣5♣9♠8♣, the pot was up to about 650,000 and action was on Derek Stark of Team Lancaster. He checked and Matthew Lambrecht of Team Lambrecht bet 275,000. Stark sighed deeply upon seeing the bet.

It was a bet for more than half of Stark's remaining stack and after two minutes, he called it off. Lambrecht showed J♦10♦ for a jack-high straight and Stark mucked.

Hicham Mahmouki opened from early position and David Hong three-bet to 345,000 from middle position, leaving himself just 5,000 behind. When it got back to Mahmouki, he shoved, and Hong called.

Hong was flipping for his team's tournament life, but didn't get off to the best start when the flop came 2♥7♦5♥. However, the A♦ on the turn propelled him into the lead and left Mahmouki with just two outs. No tens hit the river as the Q♣ completed the board, and Hong earned his team a double-up.

Egbert, conscious of the payjump, took around three minutes before calling it off.
