Punish the Limpers

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

By the time action had worked its way round to Richard Florestan in the small blind, three players had already limped in. Florestan punished the limpers by raising to 7,500. Alejandro Jauregui called from the big blind, but the rest of the table folded.

Both players checked the 782 flop, but Florestan picked the betting lead up again on the J turn, putting out a bet of 10,000. Jauregui made the call.

The dealer flipped over the 2 river, and Florestan put out another 10,000 bet. Again, Jauregui called but was shown bad news. Florestan tabled AA, which was good enough to claim the pot, and Jauregui mucked his cards.

Gabay Holds to Bust Carreon

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Haim Gabay raised to 2,500 in the hijack before John Carreon moved all in for 14,000 in the big blind. "You could afford it," Carreon told Gabay, who eventually called to put Carreon at risk.

John Carreon: A8 All in
Haim Gabay: AQ

Gabay had Carreon dominated, but Carreon received some hope on the K25 flop with the nut flush draw. The 4 turn was no help, while the river came the 6 and Carreon was sent to the rail.

Presho Triples Up

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action was picked up on the flop between Yongqing Yuan in the small blind, Joseph Presho in early position, and Joshua Feiger in the hijack.

The board read 8Q3 and action checked around to Feiger who bet 11,600 and Yuan called. Presho responded by moving all in for 12,700 and both of his opponents called.

Action checked through on the 6 turn to the 3 river where Yuan bet 20,000 and Feiger folded.

Joseph Presho: AA
Yongqing Yuan: AQ All in

Presho's aces were good for the pot as he tripled up at the expense of Yuan and Feiger.

Good Bai

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Richard Bai
Richard Bai

Action was joined with 16,000 in the middle, and three players had arrived at the river on a A75810 board.

The player first to act checked, as did Richard Bai in the hijack. Karim Salum then moved all in from the cutoff for 11,900.

He got over the first hurdle, with one player folding, but Bai was less trusting of the bet.

A curious Bai thought through the hand and decided to make the call.

It was probably good news as Salum stood up to leave at the same time as turning over his cards. Sure enough, he showed 76, which could not beat Bai's A3.

Funaro Gets Paid Despite River

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action was picked up on a board of 2A8K with 57,000 chips in the middle. Frank Funaro bet out for 23,000 into one other player, Doron Reuveni, who put in the call.

The river 6 didn't slow Funaro down, as he opted for a smaller sizing of 18,000. Reuveni didn't take too long before putting in the call. Funaro showed J10 for the turned flush, which got less hidden on the river. Reuveni made a failed attempt to flick his cards into the middle, and the dealer continued to wait for him to show his hand. Action halted for around half a minute, before he finally moved his cards forward an inch, and the dealer took them away.

Andriy Lyubovetskiy
Andriy Lyubovetskiy

Kevin McShea limped from the hijack and Andriy Lyubovetskiy raised to 4,500 from the small blind. Alvaro Puchol three-bet to 12,000 from the big blind, which got a fold from McShea and a call from Lyubovetskiy.

Both players checked on the 289 flop and then Lyubovetskiy took the initiative with a 15,000 bet on the 3 turn.

Puchol wanted nothing to do with it and folded — conceding the pot to Lyubovetskiy.
