With 27,000 in the middle to the 10♦3♥3♠Q♥ turn, Dong Le check-raised from 9,000 to 26,000 and was called by Joshua Beckenstein. They headed to the K♠ on the river on which Le checked again with a shorter stack behind. Beckenstein now bet 125,000 and Le was sent into agony until he reluctantly folded.
In a heads-up pot, the board showed 4♥5♠8♦J♥ when Johnny Lodden checked to Damian Salas who bet 7,000. Lodden took a minute and called.
The Q♦ landed on the river and Lodden checked again. Salas sent 42,000 into the pot and Lodden considered it for some time before folding.
Matthew Franklin raised to 5,000 from middle position holding K♦10♦. Nicholas Rigby in hijack called with Q♣10♣ to see a flop.
The flop dropped 8♥A♥5♠. Franklin continued with 7,000. Rigby raised to 14,000 and took the pot down.
The action was joined with a full board showing Q♥7♦4♦9♥7♥, and roughly 45,000 already in the middle.
Robert Grossglauser had put out a bet of 21,000, and Kevin Frame had responded by moving all in for 39,000.
Grossglauser spent a good few minutes in the tank, trying to decide what to do, before eventually settling on a call.
Frame turned over A♥10♥ for the nut flush, and a frustrated Grossglauser flipped over his Q♠J♦.
Patrick Stacey opened to 4,000 from under the gun, Louis Pito called from the cutoff and Jeffrey Sabean defended from the big blind.
The 7♠10♣A♠ flop was checked to the 8♦ turn.
Sabean bet 4,000 and saw both players fold, handing him the pot.
Franciso Fernandez raised in the cutoff to 4,500 and it was called by Sebastian Medina in the big blind.
The flop came 8♠5♠4♣ and they checked to see a 2♥ on the turn. Medina led out for 5,000 and Fernandez called.
A 4♥ hit the river and Medina sent 18,000 in the middle. Fernandez snap-called and Medina tabled Q♣7♦. Fernandez revealed 9♣9♦ and he added the chips to his stack.
Jon Pardy is, as usual, keeping his table chatty and rambunctious, but nothing beats the story tablemate Graham Cowan had to tell.
"I played with this guy for nine hours on Day 1. Tell your story," Matthew Bode said to Cowan.
"I arrived in Vegas a week ago. I'm sitting at the poker table and I get pocket aces, and then I had a heart attack at the table. And then they were cracked. The guy made a straight on the river. So I go back to my room and they have to call the doctor," Cowan said, laughing off the ordeal.
"This was a week ago. Five days ago," Bode added.
"That's crazy," Pardy yelled out in disbelief.
Aaron Barone opened to 4,000 with K♥K♣ in late position and got Matthew Franklin to call with K♦Q♥ and Nicholas Rigby in the small blind with 8♣5♦ to see the flop.
The flop dropped A♠Q♠4♦. With action passed to him, Barone bet 5,000 and pushes everyone else out of the pot.
Hooman Nikzad opened up the action with a raise to 4,000 under the gun, receiving calls from Kingsley Leung and Sam Rayburn, both of whom were on his direct left. Maxwell Schrack then three-bet to 15,000 from the cutoff, and all three called, going "Texas heads-up" to a flop.
The J♣10♣7♠ flop checked through, bringing in the 7♣ on the turn. Here, Leung bet out for 30,000 and took it down without any resistance.
