A preflop raising war ended with the preflop shove by Isaac Baron and he forced out Lester Edoc as well as Florian Gaugusch, while George Won eventually called all-in for just shy of the starting stack.

The K♥3♣2♠ flop vaulted Baron into the lead and Won said "give me a nine one time". That one time was denied on the 7♣ turn and 10♣ river to knock out Won. Edoc mentioned he folded pocket queens while Gaugusch added "I also had ace-king but there was a four-bet and five-bet ...".
John McDonald got his final 24,000 into the middle from the cutoff and was at risk against Sergio Aido from middle position.

McDonald was in rough shape against the dominating ace of Aido. The K♦J♦4♠ flop gave both players a pair but McDonald could improve no further on the 6♣10♣ runout as the Spaniard held on for the elimination as he approaches 200,000 early in Day 2.
Tomas Geleziunas opened to 9,000 in hijack and received an all-in shove for around 28,000 from David Leja on the button sending Geleziunas to the tank. Geleziunas called after a few seconds, taking both of them to showdown.

Leja, ahead with his queens, watched as the dealer flopped 4♦9♣6♠. Geleziunas needed an ace or a king to drop to push ahead, but the 6♥ turn didn't give that to him.
Leja needed to last one more card for a double up, but the river fell K♦ giving the pair Geleziunas the pair he had been waiting for. Geleziunas scooped the pot as Leja left the table quietly.
Seeing the Q♠Q♣2♣7♦ turn, Niall Farrell checked from the big blind to Antonios Koukouras on the button. Kouskouras bet 8,000, and Farrell called.
The 2♥ river completed the board, and Kouskouras sized up to 12,500. Farrell spent some time in the tank, then tossed in a call. Kouskouras tabled Q♦4♦ for a full house, and Farrell mucked his cards in defeat.
In the final hand before the break, three players were already on the A♦9♦8♦ flop, with Alan Keating already all in on the button. The pot stood at around 50,000 and action was on Jeffrey Zigulis in the big blind.
Zigulis moved all in for his remaining 155,200, and action went to William Leffingwell to either call or fold. Leffingwell asked "How much is it?" before saying "You know I have you covered right?".
Leffingwell took around a minute before folding, leaving the players to go heads-up to showdown.

Keating needed to find help on the runout to remain in the tournament, but missed on the 9♣ turn and 7♦ river, sending him home at the end of the first level of the day.

Mark Radoja raised to 1,600 in late position. Dustin Wills three-bet to 4,500 in the hijack, and Yuri Shaulov four-bet all in to 14,500 after some minutes in the tank.
Radoja quickly folded his hand, but Wills called after getting a count.

Wills flopped pair on Q♣9♥5♣, and Shaulov bricked his gutshot on the 4♦ turn and 7♦ river, knocking him out of the Main Event.
Connor Belcher raised to 2,000 in middle position and Nichlaus Staker in the cutoff three-bet to 8,000. In the small blind, Pierre Mothes raised to 18,500 which saw Belcher fold while Staker moved all in fro 35,000, earning a quick call.

The board ran out 6♥6♠7♥K♥3♦ and the kings up was good to eliminate Staker from the tournament.
