2025 World Series of Poker
Sirish Shetty moved all in for 60,000 in middle position and Stephan Nussrallah called in late position. In the cutoff, Benjamin Williams jammed and action folded around to Nusrallah who called for his last 315,000 total.
Sirish Shetty: K♣J♦
Stephan Nussrallah: A♣K♠
Benjamin Williams: Q♥Q♣
The board ran out Q♠9♥2♦3♥6♣ and the set of queens was good for the pot to bring the field two closer to the money.
Seun Oluwole called under the gun and Weston Wells raised to 18,000 in early position and Nicholas Bond called in middle position. Greg Raymer raised to 70,000 to see Oluwole fold and Wells raised to 150,000. Bond folded and Raymer moved all in for 440,000 which saw Wells call to put the 2004 Main Event champion at risk.
Greg Raymer: K♣K♦
Weston Wells: K♥K♠
What looked like a chop was flipped on its head as the flop ran out 10♠8♠6♠ to give Wells a freeroll and flush draw to boot. The turn 2♠ locked up the pot for Wells before the A♦ river and the 2004 WSOP Main Event champion was eliminated from the tournament.
"Fossilman" signed a fossil for Wells as he wished his table mates luck, departing the field fifty or so spots away from the money.
JJ Liu opened to 12,000 from early position and Thi Xoa Nguyen called from middle position. Ricky Lee was in the hijack and bumped it up to 38,000, which both Liu and Nguyen called.
The flop came 3♦Q♣9♠ and when the action checked to Lee, he shoved for 99,000. Liu folded, but Nguyen called.
Ricky Lee: A♣K♦
Thi Xoa Nguyen: J♣9♣
Nguyen had flopped a pair and turned trips with the 9♥, which left Lee drawing dead. A meaningless 3♣ filled out the board, and Lee made his way to the exit empty-handed.
Shant Setrakian was all in for his final 98,000 from middle position and at risk against Soojo Kim from the button.
Shant Setrakian: A♥Q♣
Soojo Kim: 9♥9♦
It was a coinflip scenario for a brief amount of time before the Q♦9♠9♣ flop gave Kim quad nines. Setrakian was drawing to running queens but he could not find his ladies as the board ran out 5♣8♠ and Setrakian was eliminated in brutal fashion as the bubble draws one step closer.
"We did our part. Now we just need every other table to bust one person and we'll be there," joked a tablemate.
In a preflop confrontation, Doug Polk was all in for 243,000 from the cutoff and up against Luke Chung who covered him from the hijack.
Doug Polk: A♠A♦
Luke Chung: K♠K♦
Polk was a massive favorite to double up with pocket aces but was left drawing to two outs after the 6♣K♣3♣ flop gave Chung a set of kings. Polk couldn't make a set of his own as the rest of the board ran out 7♦10♦ and was eliminated in brutal fashion while Chung was pushed another sizable pot.
Luke Chung opened to 10,000 from the button and Gaetan Lheureux defended from the big blind.
The flop came 6♣2♣5♠ and Lheureux check-called a 13,000 continuation bet from Chung.
Lheureux checked the Q♣ turn and Chung bet 30,000. Lheureux shoved for 103,000 and Chung called with a covering stack to put him at risk.
Gaetan Lheureux: A♣5♦
Luke Chung: 8♠8♣
Lheureux had a pair of fives and was drawing to the nut-flush while Chung was ahead with a pair of eights. The 10♦ river changed nothing for either player and Lheureux was sent to the rail while Chung claimed the last of his chips.
