Jeffrey Galloway open-jammed for 57,000 from middle position and Alcides Gomez looked him up from the small blind.

It was a coinflip scenario until the K♣Q♣8♣ flop vaulted Gomez into a commanding lead with top pair and the nut flush draw. The 7♥ turn left Galloway with just one out, which did not come on the 7♣ river as Gomez improved to the nut flush to eliminate Galloway.
Robert Geith was all-in with 9♥9♠ for 41,500 and was only slightly covered by Lynda Hernandez at the other end of the table with J♦J♥.
The board came 10♠4♦4♠7♦A♥ and Geith was eliminated, with Hernandez chipping up to around 100,000 just before the second break of the day.
The action was kicked off by Kou Vang, who raised to 6,500. The player to his immediate left made the call before they both saw Bradley Dudeck three-bet from the button to 25,000.
Play folded back to Vang, who four-bet to 150,000. This saw the sole caller fold before Dudeck responded with a five-bet shove for 181,500.
Vang called, and the cards were turned over.

It was a good start for Dudeck on the 3♣J♦7♣, but the A♣ turn saw him get up from his seat, ready to leave.
The river 9♠ couldn't save him, and he headed towards the exit as the dealer pushed all of his chips across the table.
After an open to 9,000, Antoni Gotarra three-bet to 19,000. Dorian Rios then four-bet all in for 60,500.
The original raiser folded and action was on Gotarra who took his time with his decision. Eventually time was called as Gotarra simultaneously announced call.

Gotarra had got it right to have Rios dominated. The board came A♠Q♦3♦7♠K♥ and Rios was eliminated.
Three ways to the K♦10♠8♣ flop, Riva Arthur in the small blind bet 9,000 and the big blind folded. Christopher Davis then jammed a shorter stack and Arthur snap-called.

The Q♠ turn gave Davis more outs to survive but the 4♠ river was not among them, sending the chips over to big stack Arthur.
Hans Bosman raised to 6,000 in the cutoff and Joseph Erwin called on the button before Matija Dobric three-bet jammed a stack of 66,500 from the small blind. Bosman called and Erwin folded what he said was K♠Q♠.

Dobric was dominated but got some help from the flop of 8♣9♠J♠ with a gutshot before the board finished out 2♦5♥ to confirm his elimination.

Jonathan Tamayo, the defending champion, bowed out from the $10,000 buy-in World Championship event on Tuesday during the second level of the Day 3 session. Last year's $10 million winner finished shy of the money this time around, but he was a flip away from having 70 big blinds instead.
Loni Hui opened to 6,000 from under the gun with K♥10♥ and Roger Stamey defended from the big blind with 7♠5♥.
The flop came 8♦Q♦6♦ and Stamey check-called a 4,500 continuation bet from Hui.
Hui bet 17,000 on the J♠ turn and this time Stamey opted to fold.
