Janotta Runs Into Aces

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Will Kassouf raised to 170,000 in middle position with QJ and Kohei Arai three-bet to 440,000 on the button. Amadeus Janotta four-bet jammed all in for 1,175,000 from the small blind which got Kassouf to fold and Arai quickly called.

Hans Bosman made it 160,000 from middle position and only Craig Trost called from the button.

Bosman placed out a continuation-bet of 100,000 on the A89 flop. Trost didn't take long to make the call.

After Bosman checked the 10 river, Trost thought for a while before deciding to check behind. Bosman showed A9 for two pair, but lost the pot to Trost's straight with 76.

Richard Freitas
Richard Freitas

Tomohiro Tamano raised to 160,000 in early position before Richard Freitas three-bet to 475,000 in the cutoff. Tamano called and they went heads-up to the Q103 flop.

Freitas then continued for 325,000 and Tamano came back with a raise to 700,000. Freitas called.

Tamano bet another 600,000 on the K turn and Freitas tanked for several minutes before emerging with an all-in shove for 1,925,000. Tamano snap-called.

Freitas turned over AJ for the nut straight. "Wow," Tamano said as he revealed 1010 for a set. Tamano needed the board to pair on the river, but he missed the A and Freitas doubled up.

Richard Buckingham
Richard Buckingham

On the river of a Q108K3 board, Richard Buckingham bet 250,000 from the big blind. Chahn Jung then opted for a raise to 925,000 in the under-the-gun position and that sent Buckingham into the tank. He eventually called and Jung showed his AK, which Buckingham had beat with the QJ.

"You either have ace-king with spade or not," Buckingham concluded while raking in the pot and added "that was a very good raise":

Gonzalo Jose
Gonzalo Jose

Gonzalo Jose raised to 280,000 from middle position and was three-bet by Matija Kajtez to 850,000 from the hijack. Daniele Primerano folded pocket tens in the big blind, but Jose jammed for 2,670,000. After thinking briefly, Kajtez called.

Gonzalo Jose: AK All in
Matija Kajtez: QQ

Jose found himself in a flip with Big Slick against the queens of Kajtez. Jose stood up as the dealer put out the 856 flop, keeping Kajtez's Ladies in the lead. The 7 turn offered up some chop outs, but the 8 river was a brick. Jose wished everyone good luck and headed to the nearest exit.
