Yamanouchi Takes Out Altman

There was 33,500 in the middle on the turn as the board read 10♠8♦4♥7♠ in a pot between Joseph Altman from under the gun and Hisashi Yamanouchi on his direct left.

Altman led all in for his remaining 30,200, and Yamanouchi put in the call after a minute's tank.

Hisashi Yamanouchi: Q♠Q♣

Altman had nines with an open-ended straight draw but was behind the overpair of Yamanouchi. Altman still had ten outs to stay alive, but the river was the 10♣, and his run was cut short.

Action was picked up on the river with a board reading 9♥K♥3♣3♦10♥ and the pot standing 27,000 strong.

Middle position player Shrinag Gaddipati had placed 82,000 in front of him as an overbet, more than covering Abbas Alikhani in the cutoff.

Whilst Alikhani was in the tank, tablemate Amir Kaikhah let PokerNews know that the two had history: Earlier on in the day, Gaddipati had bluff-shoved into Alikhani, and tabled queen-high as Alikhani folded top pair.

After taking inventory, Alikhani noted that his stack amounted to 41,600. "If you got it you got it," he finally announced, and stuck in the call.

He had rivered a flush with A♥7♥ but it was awful news for him, as he was turned dead by his opponent's K♦K♠ for kings full.

Tomoki Lida raised to 1,200 from middle position. Three callers wanted to see the flop, including David Wells in the small blind.

When the flop hit 7♥J♦J♠, Lida continued for 1,600 and only Wells called.

The turn brought the 10♣.

Lida bet 3,000, Wells check-raised to 8,000, and Lida moved all in.

Wells made the call.

Unfortunately for Lida, the veteran Wells had turned a full house. The Q♣ on the river was none of the cards Lida needed to improve, thus he was eliminated.

Raul Gallego raised to 1,300 from under the gun, Timothy Rutherford three-bet to 4,000 from middle position, and James Castro cold-called in the cutoff. Gallego then four-bet to 10,900, prompting Rutherford to fold, but Castro wasn't going anywhere and made the call.

Both players checked the K♦Q♠9♣ flop. Gallego fired out a bet of 6,000 on the 9♠ turn, and Castro snap-shoved for 33,000. Gallego snap-called.

Castro was drawing dead, and the meaningless 2♦ river brought his Main Event run to an end.

Hansen Felted After Burn Card Controversy

With just a couple thousand in the middle preflop, a postflop raising war resulted in Todd Hansen getting the rest of his 30,500 stack into the middle from the button on a flop of 9♦4♠2♦, at risk against Pedro Dacunha in the cutoff.

Pedro Dacunha: 9♠7♠

Hansen had two overs and the nut flush draw against the top pair of Dacunha.

However, as the dealer was about to deal the rest of the board, it was discovered that she had placed down an extra burn card before the turn. The card that mistakenly came on the turn was the J♥, which would have paired Hansen.

The floor was called and it was ruled that the third burn card would become the turn, and it was the 10♣. The jack of hearts that Hansen thought saved him became the third burn card.

The 9♥ river could not save Hansen, and he was eliminated in unfortunate fashion.

After Michael Funk raised to 28,000 chips, Barral reraised all in. Funk made the call.

Funk was in a nasty spot, holding top two pair against a flopped flush with one card to go. The board paired on the river, but the 5♣ wasn't one of the pairs he needed, and he was ousted.

On a flop of J♦K♣7♣ action checked to Martin Kabrhel in the cutoff, who bet out for 1,700 into 4,200. Mark Mundel called in the small blind, before big blind Ignacio Molina moved all in for 11,200. Kabrhel then made it 21,000, and Mundel called.

On the Q♦ turn, Kabrhel bet 31,500 when checked to. Mundel took quite some time, prompting Kabrhel to say, "take your time, but hurry up." Eventually, Mundel folded.

The river A♠ confirmed the elimination, as Kabrhel took down a sizeable pot.
