On a flop of A♦8♣5♣, Igor Pansovoi three-bet into Rittie Chuaprasert and the latter got his chips into the middle to find himself at risk and behind.

The kicker played on the 4♠ turn and 6♦ river to knock out Chuaprasert in one of the final hands of the night, vaulting Pansovoi to one of the largest stacks in the opening flight.
There were nearly 40,000 in the middle of a large pot that had already reached the river on the 10♠4♥7♥9♠Q♦ board.
Qiang Xu from early position and William Kerkaert from the cutoff both checked to Vivian Saliba, who put out a bet of 10,000.
Xu check-raised to 45,000 before Kerkaert went all-in for approximately 33,000. Saliba went into the tank as she considered her decision. She cut out the chips for a call, but never put them in as she opted to fold, and Xu and Kerkaert went to a showdown.
Xu showed K♥J♥ for a hand that started out as a flush draw, but ended up backing into a straight. A disappointed Kerkaert showed 10♦9♦ for two pair as he got up from the table and left the tournament area.
Picking up the action on the 10♥10♦5♣9♠ turn, Adam Agaev bet 2,000 from under the gun and then called a raise to 8,000 by Seth Davies. Agaev checked the 8♥ river and Savies jammed for around 25,000 to get quickly called by Agaev.
Davies rolled over the K♠10♠ for trips tens, which was pipped by the A♠10♣ of Agaev.
Eric Cloutier was already stood from the table after being eliminated by Lucas Landa.
Cloutier had got his remaining ~20,000 all in preflop from middle position with pocket jacks and found himself up against Landa's big slick.

Cloutier was ahead on the 9♣3♥9♠ flop, but the K♥ turn saw Landa take the lead. A 9♦ river didn't swing things back his way and Cloutier hit the rail in the last level of the night.
Ismael Grijalva opened from under the gun and Chad Eveslage moved all in for his remaining 9,400 from middle position. Ilkin Amirov called from the cutoff and Grijalva also made the call.
The 4♣J♠A♠ flop saw Grijalva check-call a 5,000 bet by Amirov, taking the players to the 2♣ turn.
Both checked to see the K♠ river and Grijalva shoved, covering Amirov's remaining 23,800. Amirov went into the tank and stood from the table. He was talking to the table about what to do and if he should "call?" and Grijalva jested "If you want to bust on Day 1, yeah".
Another player at the table suggested for Amirov to "Stop talking... or at least stop saying things like call" as Grijalva asked "Wait, is that binding?".
Amirov eventually tabled his K♣K♦ and folded his set, leaving Eveslage to see his fate.

Grijalva had rivered the straight, eliminating Eveslage from the main event and showing Amirov he had made the right fold.
Justus Marisco opened to 1,500 from early position, and Hannes Jeschka flatted from late position. Leo Margets then moved all in for 9,500 on the button. Marsico called, and Jeschka folded.

It wasn't to be for Margets, as the 10♥2♠3♥7♣9♥ runout sent her to the rail.
Also at the table, Jimmie Lucero has managed quite the spin up, turning his stack of just 400 chips to more than 13,000.
Amin Hudda limped from under the gun before Preston Roberts raised to 2,600 from middle position. Mario Niciforo called from the big blind, and Hudda also came along.
After two checks on the J♦5♣2♠ flop, Roberts bet 7,000, and only Niciforo called to see a turn.
Niciforo check-called a second barrel of 14,000 from Roberts on the 6♥ turn.
A final check came from Niciforo on the 6♦ river, and Roberts jammed for 44,000. Niciforo went into the tank and, after thinking for around 90 seconds, slammed in the call.
Roberts confidently tabled K♦K♥ for an overpair, but to his surprise, and that of the rest of the table, he was behind Niciforo's 5♦5♠ for a full house.
David Rothschild raised from middle position, and Hugo Pingray three-bet to 4,100 from the big blind. Rothschild came back with a four-bet to 10,000, which Pingray called.
As soon as Pingray saw the dealer fan the 10♥K♥4♦ flop, he jammed for his remaining 48,200. Rothschild quickly called with the covering stack.

Pingray had flopped top pair, but was in terrible shape against Rothschild's overpair.
The remainder of the board ran out 6♠7♠, and Pingray became the newest casualty of the Main Event.
Mark Duran raised to 1,000 from early position and it was folded to Cavin Ehia, who moved all in for his last 11,000 from middle position. Action folded back to Duran, who tanked a bit before tossing in a call to put Ehia at risk.

The 9♦6♦4♣ flop was safe for Ehia, but the J♦ turn paired Duran's jack to leave Ehia drawing slim.
The 3♦ river bricked out and Duran was sent the rest of Ehia's chips.
Thomas Cipriano raised to 1,500 under the gun, which Luis Ramos and Gareth Thompson called from the button and small blind.
The action checked to Cipriano on a 6♦A♠9♠ flop, which saw Ramos fold, but Thompson check-raised to 10,000, which Cipriano called.
Thompson continued with a bet of 17,000 on the Q♥ turn, and this time it was Cipriano who raised, making it 40,000. Thompson then moved all in for 50,400, and Cipriano called.

Thompson had flopped two pair, but had been run down on the turn, as Cipriano made a better two pair.
