Brannan Walks Right Into the Trap

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Frank Brannan
Frank Brannan

Jorge Herrera limped in from early position. Frank Brannan then shoved in his 250,000 as next to act. Herrara sighed as the action was folding around, but snap-called once it had gotten back to him.

Frank Brannan: 1010 All in
Jorge Herrera: KK

The players switched outs on the QAJ flop, but nothing changed on the 3 turn or 5 river. Herrara was awarded the pot, busting Brannan from the Main Event.

Fair Plays the Role of the Grinch

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Charles Moore
Charles Moore

Charles "Woody" Moore limped in from the hijack before Chun Kwok raised to 50,000 in the small blind. Nathan Fair called in the big blind, as did Moore.

The flop came 43Q and Kwok continued for 60,000. Fair then raised to 150,000 and Moore moved all in for 175,000. Kwok folded, while Fair called to put Moore at risk.

Woody Moore: AQ All in
Nathan Fair: KK

"Good luck, Santa," Fair told Moore.

"I'm in bad shape," Moore added, and the rest of the board ran out 109 to send Moore to the rail. Kwok then admitted he also had ace-queen.

"Who killed Santa?" one of the ESPN production crew asked.

"The grinch," Fair replied, and Moore went around the table to shake his tablemates hands before heading to the exit.

Does Green Look Like a Bluffer?

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Brian Green
Brian Green

Lucas Lew opened from early position before Brian Green three-bet to 87,000 from the big blind, and Lew called.

On the 532 flop, Green led for 100,000 and Lew called.

Green bet again on the 10 turn for 173,000, and Lew called once again.

On the 6 river, Green emptied the clip, jamming as the covering stack for about 340,000 effective, sending Lew deep into the tank.

After a minute, Lew tried getting some information out of Green as he inquired, "Are you bluffing?"

"Do I look like that kind of guy to you?" Green replied, "I'm trying to win ten million dollars. You think I'd put all my chips in with a bluff?"

Nearly three minutes would roll off the clock before Lew let his hand go, and Green dragged a huge one without showdown.

Four-Bet Bluff Jam Gone Wrong

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Mattias Karlsson
Mattias Karlsson

Alfred Karlsson opened to 25,000 under the gun before Dimitrios Kilintaris three-bet to 80,000 from middle position. With the action back on Karlsson, he four-bet jammed his entire stack for 453,000. Kilintaris asked for a count and pondered the decision for 30 seconds before putting in the call.

Alfred Karlsson: QJ All in
Dimitrios Kilintaris: AK

Karlsson bluffed at the wrong time but he held live cards against the big slick of Kilintaris. However, the KKJ flop put Kilintaris firmly into the lead. The 66 runout could not save Karlsson, and his Main Event run was cut short as Kilintaris improved to kings-full.

Why Not Ask for Moore?

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Farah Galfond
Farah Galfond

Picking up the action on a flop of J93, Jeremy Moore was all in for 315,000 and Farah Galfond was all in for 461,000, while Jordan Griff had both players covered.

Jeremy Moore: JJ All in
Farah Galfond: 99 All in
Jordan Griff: AA

Moore and Galfond had both flopped sets and Griff was far away in third place with his aces. The board then finished out 63 to improve both Moore and Galfond to full houses and Moore tripled up to above a million in chips.

Behchet "Slowrolls" Hebbar on Incredibly Deep-Stacked Table

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Shreesh Hebbar
Shreesh Hebbar

Martin Zamani raised to 30,000 in middle position. David Karlin called in the cutoff before Akay Behchet moved his last 70,000 over the line on the button. Shreesh Hebbar four-bet to 200,000, which Zamani quickly called.

Karlin got out of the way for the AKK flop to be fanned. Hebbar continued for 75,000, quickly folding Zamani out of the pot.

After making sure he had received the pot, Hebbar tabled his cards. After some moments, the at-risk Behchet followed suit.

Akay Behchet: AA All in
Shreesh Hebbar: JJ

"Oh, a little slowroll. Why did you wait so long? Do you enjoy that?" big stack Chi Wei Fan playfully teased Behchet.

No running jacks appeared on the 54 turn and river, securing Behchet his double-up.

Arthur Dore
Arthur Dore

Adam Kharman raised to 25,000 in early position before Dutch Boyd three-bet to 60,000 in the cutoff. Arthur Dore moved all in for 130,000 on the button and Kharman folded, while Boyd called to put Dore at risk.

Arthur Dore: AA All in
Dutch Boyd: KK

Dore found himself on the right side of the cooler and was poised for the double up as the board came 9462, but Boyd spiked the K on the river to win the pot and send Dore to the rail.

Players Take a Short Break

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Chi Chen
Chi Chen

The remaining 737 players are on their third break of Day 4. This will be a short 15-minute break, with action due to resume at approximately 6.34 p.m.

The blinds will resume at Level 18 with 6,000/12,000 with a big blind ante of 12,000. Action will continue for the remainder of the 60 minutes left in this level, and then one more full level will be played out (Level 19) before bagging for Day 5. Here are some of the highlights from the previous few hours of poker:

"See You at the Strip Club"

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Ren Lin got his last 80,000 into the middle from the button, at risk against Yubin Tao in the big blind.

Ren Lin: Q9 All in
Yubin Tao: A9

Lin had the dominated hand as he pleaded for a Lady Gaga. Unfortunately for him, the A65 flop left him drawing slim. The board ran out A4, and Tao improved to trips to eliminate Lin.

"See you at the strip club!" Lin said to the table as he departed the tournament area.

Riess Tanks Three Minutes to Three-Bet, Wins Hand

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess raised to 25,000 in early position. Brad Ruben then three-bet to 73,000 on the button. Riess tanked for minutes on end, well into the break, before he called.

He then check-called Ruben's continuation-bet of 53,000 on the 1059 flop, after which the A turn went check, check.

Riess led out for a tiny bet of 30,000 on the 10 river, but it was enough to let Ruben lay his hand down.

The two guessed at each other's hands, but neither of them was willing to provide a conclusive answer as they headed into their shortened break.
