"I'm Such a Donkey"

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Ali Ayub
Ali Ayub

With around 350,000 already in the pot on a board of 8J4Q10, Martin Kinder fired 150,000 from early position, and Ali Ayub sank deep into the tank on the button.

Searching for an answer, Ayub looked across the table and asked, "What is it, nines or tens?" Kinder offered no response.

The agony dragged on for Ayub as he repeatedly apologized to the rest of the table for taking so long.

After another minute or so, Ayub asked the same question again.

"What is it, nines or tens?"

This time Kinder broke his silence with, "Which do you want it to be?"

Even that wasn't enough to settle Ayub's mind. Before acting, he stood up, looked down at his chips and said, "Oh man, I'm such a donkey!"

Eventually, Ayub committed around half of his stack with the call.

His read had been spot on. Kinder tabled 99 for a rivered straight, while Ayub revealed AQ, having been ahead with top pair on the turn.

Aubrey Williams: AK All in
DJ Sharma: AJ

"There's going to be a jack of diamonds in the window. Show me a jack," Sharma said before realizing that he held the J. "Show me a jack of hearts," he corrected.

He got his wish as the flop came JQ4 to give him a pair and the lead. "It's right there, boom!" he said, and the rest of the board ran out 3Q to send Williams to the rail.

"That's what we do!" Sharma shouted as he raked in the pot.

As recounted by Paul Tait, Charles Tabet bet the 498 flop, Shaun Deeb raised, and Tabet three-bet. Deeb called, and PokerNews picked up the action on the J turn with 420,000 in the middle.

Tabet then checked to Deeb, who moved all in. Tabet's stack of 425,000 was covered, and he spent minutes agonizing over his decision.

As more and more cameras gathered, Tabet eventually found a fold, leaving himself just over 35 big blinds in his stack.

Liu Gives Up on Million Chip Pot

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Chi Chen and Sasha Liu
Chi Chen and Sasha Liu

Russell Rosenblum opened the action to 20,000 from the cutoff and Chi Chen called on the button. Sasha Liu called from the small blind and Jeffrey Tebben defended his big blind.

The 364 flop saw all check to the 6 turn. Liu bet out 60,000 which saw Tebben and Rosenblum fold. Chen raised to 160,000 and Liu went into the tank, before re-raising to 425,000. Chen tank-called and the 10 completed the board.

Liu took some time before betting 600,000. Chen also went into a long tank before moving all in for just over a million chips. Liu eventually gave up her hand and the pot was pushed to Chen. There was no show of cards or discussion of the hand after the action had ended, and the pair continued to play having nearly swapped stacks.

Michael Gibbs: AQ All in
Keanon Simon: AK

The 810J flop gave Gibbs extra outs, but the 4 turn and 8 river provided no help, eliminating him.

Over at an adjacent table, one of the start-of-day chipleaders, Levon Khachatryan, had been knocked out by Shreesh Hebbar. As recounted by the players at the table, Khachatryan got his pocket kings in preflop against Hebbar's ace-king suited for a huge pot.

Hebbar flopped a flush to leave Khachatryan drawing dead, sending him to an early exit.
