Big O

Kevin Choi made a pot-sized raise to 320,000 chips preflop, putting Casey Carroll and Vadim Shlez all in with their calls.

Vadim Shlez: AK952All in
Casey Carroll: 97432All in
Kevin Choi: AQQJ2

The all-ins survived the runout of A9855, with Carroll making fives full of aces and Shlez making the nut-low.

Balas Leaves Shlez Vulnerable

Level 25

Big O

Brandon Cantu opened the action from the hijack with a raise to 65,000. Dekel Balas flatted in the cutoff, before Vadim Shlez made a pot-sized raise to 285,000 from the small blind. Only Balas made the call. Shlez potted the JQ4 flop and Balas called all in.

Dekel Balas: AJ1084 All in
Vadim Shlez: AQ842

Balas needed to get lucky, and get lucky he did as the J turn boated him up, leaving Shlez with just two outs. He couldn't find one on the 7 river, as he doubled his opponent and was left extremely short. Shlez busted a few hands later.

Big O

Action was picked up with Gregory Wood all in and at risk from the big blind for 270,000 total, up against Naween Fernando in first position.

Gregory Wood: AK643 All in
Naween Fernando: AAQ53

Nothing improved for Wood on the runout of JQ and he took his leave from the tournament while Fernando got richer.

Rich Quarters Deck Without A Pair

Level 25

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Action was picked up on the turn in a pot between Woody Deck in late position, Reagan Rich in the hijack, and Brian Battistone on the button.

With a board reading Q624, Deck moved all in for 380,000 and Rich called in the hijack. Battistone tanked before tossing his hand into the muck.

Woody Deck: AJ73 All in
Reagan Rich: AKJ3

A 10 peeled off on the river and both players shared the same low, while Rich's ace-king high was good for the high. As Rich took in the pot, Battistone told the table he also folded ace-three, but with a pair of queens.

Hart Chops and Chops Again

Level 25

Omaha Hi-Lo

Grant Hart moved all in for 50,000 on the button. Brad Ruben raised in the small blind and Naween Fernando called from the big blind. Ruben bet the JJ2 flop, Fernando raised and Ruben called.

Both the A turn and 9 river checked through, and the three players split the pot; Hart showed AKQ7, Ruben tabled AK610, and Fernando flipped AK83.

The very next hand, Hart did the exact same thing from the cutoff. Ruben raised again, this time from the button, and the blinds folded.

Grant Hart: AK107 All in
Brad Ruben: AJ33

Hart flopped the stones on 984 and nothing changed with the Q turn. Miraculously, he rivered an unwanted straight flush, as the 6 gave his opponent a low, and the two chopped yet again.

Barber Gets (Almost) Max Value

Level 24

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Andrew Barber opened under the gun to 40,000, leaving just a single 5,000 value chip behind. Kevin Choi called from the cutoff, and Michael Banducci defended his big blind.

Action checked through on both the flop and the turn, leaving the board to read 543Q3. Banducci checked for a third time, and Barber led out for his final 5,000. Choi reluctantly called, and Banducci pondered a while before finding the fold, despite the price.

Barber's flopped wheel with A1032 was enough to beat Choi's A1075. A tablemate joked that if Barber hadn't slow-played, he would've got Banducci's 5,000, too, and Banducci agreed. "If you just think about it for five minutes, you'll realize why I did that," retorted Barber.

Kondratenko Doubles Through Wood

Level 24

Big O

Gregory Wood opened to 50,000 from the cutoff. His only customer was Volodymyr Kondratenko who defended his small blind, and the two went heads up to a flop of Q38. Kondratenko shoved for 70,000 and Wood made the call.

Volodymyr Kondratenko: A6633 All in
Gregory Wood: AAKQ4

Kondratenko had taken the lead the lead with a set, but it was vulnerable, and the 2 turn was the worst in the deck from his point of view. Wood had turned the nut low, with a straight and flush draw to scoop. However, the 4 river counterfeit Wood's low, and Kondratenko scooped with a set and a six.
