Aces Hold For Zanot to Bust Katz, Yanovski

Level 9 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Leonid Yanovski had a raise of 75,000 in front of him from under the gun and Thomas Zanot then potted in early position. Cary Katz called for 240,000 on the button, while Yanovski also called for around the same around.

Leonid Yanovski: QQ55 All in
Thomas Zanot: AAJ2

"Seven-high always wins," tablemate Daniel Perkusic said to bolster Katz's hopes, but it was for naught as Zanot's aces held up on the K8328 board to earn him the double knockout.

"How do aces hold up there? Well, I guess I'll fire another one," Katz said as he headed off to reenter. Zanot, meanwhile, raised his arms up in the air in celebration.

"Whoo, baby! Dominic, I owe you a kiss," he told the dealer as he raked in the big pot.

"Maybe later," Dominic the Dealer replied.

Jared Bleznick, who has featured on the World Series of Poker (WSOP) livestream, received backlash from some poker fans after comments he made about Monday's Seniors High Roller event during a broadcast.

The sports cards entrepreneur and founder of Blez Sports let it be known while in the commentary booth that he was none too thrilled with the cameras shifting away from the $250,000 Super High Roller to some Seniors High Roller coverage.

This year's daily WSOP livestreams focus mostly on one event, but also dip away at times to catch up on action in other bracelet events. Bleznick, a colorful commentator and accomplished high-stakes player, didn't seem to appreciate the additional coverage on Monday.

Break Time

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The players are taking their final break of the day. Play will resume in 15 minutes, at which point they will play two more levels before bagging for Day 2.

Farhad Jamasi raised to 8,500 in the hijack and Manuel Fischer called in the cutoff. Jeremy Trojand then reraised to 35,000 in the big blind, and both opponents called.

The flop came K102 and Trojand moved all in for 55,000. Jamasi then reshoved for 61,500, and Fischer called to put both players at risk.

Jeremy Trojand: AKQJ All in
Farhad Jamasi: Q1096 All in
Manuel Fischer: KJJ9

Trojand had flopped top pair with a straight draw to take the lead, and the 7 turn and 7 river secured him the pot to triple up. Fischer took the small side pot to send Jamasi to the rail.

"That's the best hand I've seen," Jamasi said as he headed to the exit.

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Jesse Lonis
Jesse Lonis

Chongxian Yang limped in from the hijack, and Jarrett Olivas did the same in the cutoff. Those limps tempted Zachary Grech to do the same in the small blind, but Jesse Lonis spoiled the party in the big blind, raising to 12,500. Yang and Olivas called, but Grech folded.

The action checked through on the 7410 flop, but Lonis picked his betting lead back up on the 2 turn, betting full pot, 42,500. Yang folded, but Olivas moved all in for 97,500, and Lonis snap-called.

Jarrett Olivas: A842 All in

Olivas had improved to two pair on the turn, but was behind the flopped two pair of Lonis.

The Q completed the board, offering Olivas no help, and confirming his elimination.
