Glazer Takes from Kihara

Level 11 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Naoya Kihara raised to 18,000 from early position and called when Jordan Glazer three-bet to 62,000 in the hijack.

Kihara checked over to Glazer on a KQ2 flop, and Glazer announced a pot-sized bet of 137,000. That was enough to take it down, as Kihara folded.

Barakat Gets Rivered

Level 11 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Lou Garza potted from the cutoff, and Richard Kirsch made the call from the button. Youness Barakat then shoved from the small blind, Garza went over the top, and Kirsch folded.

Youness Barakat: AKJ9 All in
Lou Garza: AK106

Barakat saw a great flop, hitting kings and nines on 9K3. The 3 turn had him one card away from a double, but the 10 river improved Garza to a better two pair, ending Barakat's tournament early.

Katz Wins With Aces

Level 11 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Stephen Chidwick raised to 11,000 from under the gun. Cary Katz in early position, Artem Maksimov in the small blind, and Levon Khachatryan in the big blind all called.

Action checked around on the flop of 865 to the turn 10, where Maksimov bet 15,000. Chidwick and Khatchatryan folded while Katz raised to 45,000. Maksimov called.

Both players checked through on the river K. Katz tables AA for aces, which was good for the pot.

"Trapping," tablemate Andjelko Andrejevic said.

"I trapped myself," responded Katz as he raked in the pot.

A total of 140 entrants came out yesterday to play Event #64: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha / No-Limit Hold'em Mixed, generating a prize pool of $3,290,000. Among those who joined the field yesterday, only 60 made it to day's end to advance into today. They will be joined by more late entrants as registration remains open for the first two levels of play.

Leading the way is old school poker legend Juha Helppi (926,000), looking to add a third WSOP bracelet and sizable prize to his over $10 million in recorded live cashes. Rounding out the podium are Sergio Martinez Gonzalez (751,000) and Naoya Kihara (635,000), while others like Dylan Smith (585,000), Chance Kornuth (558,000), Sam Soverel (523,000), Chino Rheem (443,000), and Daniel Negreanu (399,000) are all looking to add to their decorated WSOP resumes.

Many are expected to hop in to play today. Martin Kabrhel was seen yesterday asking about his options to enter the event. He will likely be joined by others such as Shaun Deeb, Brian Breck, Ben Yu, and Matt Glantz. Just over two hours will be available from the start of play to the close of registration for players to fire at least one of their three allotted bullets for this tournament.
