Hahn in the Blender

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Michael Hahn raised to 35,000 in the cutoff, and faced a three-bet to 110,000 from Aaron Katz in the big blind. After more than a few minutes had passed, a couple of players discussed calling the clock before Hahn called.

The dealer spread a 583 flop, and Katz immediately announced a pot-sized bet of 235,000. Hahn spent some more time in the tank before choosing to fold.

Kupin Makes a Big Call Against Jaros

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Patrik Jaros and Aaron Kupin checked to the turn on a board of Q452. Jaros then bet 75,000 from the hijack and Kupin called in the cutoff.

The river was the 9 and Jaros potted to 245,000. Kupin tanked for a minute and eventually called.

Jaros turned over AJ74, while Kupin had 101033 and won the pot with his pair of tens.

"Wow, Miami. You have big balls," tablemate Anatoly Zlotnikov told Kupin.

Transgender Woman Brushes Off Hate Amid Deep Run in WSOP Ladies Championship

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Aubrey Williams
Aubrey Williams

Aubrey Williams didn't enter the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Ladies Championship to make a political statement, she entered because she says she belongs there.

Williams, a transgender woman, entered today's Day 4 tied with the chip lead. And while her table mates greeted her with friendly smiles and open arms, her deep run created a stir in some anti-transgender social media circles.

But Williams was unfazed, telling PokerNews on break that she doesn't monitor social media and that no one that she's played with has had an issue with her. And when asked why she played in the Ladies Championship, her answer was simple.

"I'm a woman, so I play in the women's event," Williams told PokerNews. "It's not like making a statement or anything. I'm just playing a tournament."

Dinner Break

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The remaining 127 players are going on a 60-minute dinner break before resuming bubble play. There is still one more elimination to go before the money is reached.

Action should resume around 9:10 p.m. local time.

Heads-up on a flop of 644 with over 100,000 already in the middle, Ari Engel moved all in for his last 22,000 from the big blind and Martin Zamani quickly called from early position to put Engel at risk.

Ari Engel: AAJ4All in
Martin Zamani: KK73

Engel held the lead with aces, but needed to fade a lot of cards against Zamani's flush, straight, and set outs.

The 3J runout came clean for Engel, however, and he was awarded the double up.

Starostin Doubles On the Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action was joined with 92,000 already in the pot, and a 496 flop face up on the felt.

Both players in the blinds checked, and Michael Hahn bet 92,000 from the hijack. The small blind folded, but Ivan Starostin check-raised to 368,000 from the big blind. Hahn mulled it over and then called.

The 9 turn joined the board, and Starostin moved all in for 53,000. A tortured-looking Hahn tossed and turned on his decision, nearly folding, nearly calling before he ultimately chose to flick in the call.

Ivan Starostin: AA52 All in
Michael Hahn: 5432

Hahn was drawing stone dead, and once the 8 completed the board, Starostin scooped the full double-up.
