Shah Eliminates Liu

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Rajesh Vohra limped from middle position and Michael Duek limped from the hijack. Sasha Liu then moved all in for her last 31,000 on the button and Syed Shah made it a bit over 100,000 to go from the small blind. Both Vohra and Duek let their hands go and a showdown was held.

Syed Shah: AAQ10

Liu would need some help, but the J693J runout left Shah best with the nut flush and Liu was sent to the rail.

Soft Bubble, Hard Pressure

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With the tournament approaching the bubble, David Strickland limped in from the hijack. Benny Glaser then raised to 27,000 on the button, which Strickland called.

Strickland checked in flow on the 646 flop, and Glaser put 50,000 into the middle, which was more than Strickland's remaining stack.

"I might be ahead at the moment", Strickland said, but chose to fold his hand. He then let Glaser know that he had folded an overpair.

Hahn, Jattin Get Into a Raising War on the Flop

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Michael Hahn and Farid Jattin were heads-up on a flop of 785 when Jattin bet 30,000 from the hijack. Hahn then raised to 105,000 in the small blind.

Jattin came back with a reraise to 235,000, and Hahn then reraised to 750,000. Jattin took about 30 seconds, but he eventually gave up his hand.

Valden Triples up; Hansen Heads Out

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Gus Hansen limped from under the gun and Robert Valden made it 24,000 to go from the small blind. Martin Zamani called in the big blind and Hansen called as well for an inflated three-way pot.

Valden moved all in for his last 56,000 on the KQ7 flop and Zamani raised, which was for enough to put Hansen all in for 86,000.

Hansen tanked a while, but eventually decided to go with his hand for a three-way showdown.

Valden held the best of it with his set of kings, and the 68 runout kept him best for the triple up. Zamani improved to two pair on the turn to claim the side pot and Hansen was eliminated.

Duek Takes Another Shot at the Knockout

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Farid Jattin raised to 26,000 on the button and Michael Duek called in the big blind. Matt Vengrin then moved all in for 98,000 in the cutoff and Jattin folded, while Duek quickly called.

Duek hit two pair on the 964 flop to take the lead, and the Q turn imnproved him to nines and fours. The K river wasn't enough to save Vengri, and he was sent to the rail.

Morton Gets One Through

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Michael Morton raised to 21,000 in the cutoff, which Ryan Roussel called on the button before Joshua Palmer came along in the big blind as well.

When the action checked to Morton on a QA10 flop, he continued for 33,000. Roussel wasted no time at all in folding, but Palmer took a little longer to consider what to do. Ultimately, he chose to fold as well.

Vohra Spikes the River to Double Off Duek

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Michael Duek had a raise of 75,000 in front of him from middle position before Raj Vohra moved all in for 215,000 in early position. Duek called to put him at risk.

Both players showed two aces and were poised to chop the pot. The flop came 854, while the 9 turn gave Vohra some outs with a straight draw. "Ten," he pleaded, and he got his wish as the 10 fell on the river to give him his straight and the double up.

Cavanaugh Can't Get Foxen to Bluff

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Kristen Foxen opeend to 21,000 from the hijack and called a three-bet of 66,000 from James Cavanaugh, who was in the big blind.

Both players checked down on the 810Q flop, 7 turn, and 6 river.

"At least bluff it for me on the river," a disappointed Cavanaugh said as he turned over AA97 for a straight. "Nice check."

"I had a good hand too I think," Foxen said in reply before sending her cards into the muck.

"Too good to bluff," Cavanaugh said.

Tough Spot for Arieh

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Melad Marji raised to 21,000 on the button, which only Josh Arieh called in the small blind.

Arieh check-called a continuation bet of 36,000 on a 729 flop, before the 8 turn checked through.

When Arieh checked for a third time on the 9 river, Marji slid a bet of 101,000 into the middle. Arieh spent several minutes in the tank before he elected to fold.
