Hijack Gus Hansen and Todd Brunson in the small blind capped the betting preflop, meaning they had each put in five bets. Brunson then bet the 9♦A♦8♦ flop, and Hansen quickly tossed in a call.
Brunson kept firing on the K♦ turn. Hansen took a bit longer this time, hitting the tank before finding a fold.
Yuri Dzivielevski was all in from the big blind as Dennis Weiss and Chad Eveslage went to the turn on a board of 6♦2♣J♦K♠. Eveslage then bet from the hijack, Weiss raised on the button, and Eveslage called all in.
Dzivielevski showed A♠6♠3♦3♥, Weiss had A♣J♥9♦4♥, while Eveslage turned over A♦K♣Q♣10♦. The river was the Q♥ and Eveslage made the nut straight to scoop the entire pot, earning a double up off Weiss while sending Dzivielevski to the rail.
The Round of 16 brackets are out for $25,000 Heads-Up Championship, and while Daniel Negreanu and Michael Mizrachi won't face each other in the Round of 16, the dream matchup remains very much alive.
The two GGPoker ambassadors landed on the opposite sides of the bracket on Sunday afternoon, meaning they could meet in Monday's semifinals if both can survive a gauntlet of tough opponents.
It would be one of the marquee clashes of the 2026 World Series of Poker. Negreanu is still one of poker's biggest stars and has already generated headlines this week after announcing that he and wife Amanda are expecting their first child.
Mizrachi, meanwhile, arrived in Las Vegas as the hottest name in the game following his historic 2025 WSOP Main Event victory and subsequent induction into the Poker Hall of Fame.
Ben Yu raised in the hijack, Martin Kabrhel three-bet in the big blind, and Yu called.
The flop came A♣Q♦2♠ and Kabrhel bet. Yu called, and the 3♦ fell on the turn. Kabrhel then bet again, and Yu called.
Kabrhel checked the A♥ river and Yu bet. Kabrhel called, and Yu turned over A♠K♥Q♥7♠ for a full house.
"Is this anything?" Kabrhel asked, turning over 5♠2♥.
"That's not even a good hand. Shaun Deeb told me you should play ace-deuce-three," Kabrhel added, mucking A♦K♦ as Yu took down the pot.
Yuval Bronshtein was under the gun and raised. Freddy Deeb called in the cutoff, and James Chen and Chino Rheem followed suit in the blinds.
After two checks, Bronshtein bet the 9♦6♠8♥ flop. Deeb then raised, Chen folded, and Rheem and Bronshtein both called.
The J♣ turn checked through to the K♥ river, where Cheem led out. He received two quick folds, dragging the pot uncontested.
