Heredia Wins a Battle of the Blinds

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Mateusz Sikora completed from the small blind and Pablo Heredia raised to 140,000 from the big blind.

Both players checked a flop of 7K7 to see the Q roll off on the turn. Sikora tossed out a bet of 200,000, which Heredia called.

Another round of checks came after the 10 hit the river and Sikora turned over 109 for a pair of tens. Heredia had that beat with AQ for a pair of queens, and the pot went over to him.

"They Wanted to Give Me Money"

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Pablo Beltran raised to 85,000 in middle position and Georgios Mylonas called on the button. Amit Buganim then moved all in for 280,000 in the big blind.

Beltran quickly folded, but Mylonas ripped off his hood and threw all of his time banks into the middle of the table as he went deep into the tank. He took nearly two minutes before also folding as Jan Bendik gave him a quizzical shrug.

"They wanted to give me money," Buganim said to Bendik as he collected the pot.

Set Over Set Goes Heredia's Way

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Pablo Heredia
Pablo Heredia

Pablo Heredia just got the perfect start to his final table.

He raised to 85,000 from the hijack and Ioannis Chorianopoulos called on the button. Pawel Wojciechowski was in the big blind and also called.

The trio watched a flop of 5Q3 hit the baize and when it checked to Chorianopoulos, he fired 85,000. Wojciechowski stuck in a raise to 250,000, Heredia called, and Chorianopoulos elected to get out of the way, letting his two opponents tangle.

When the 7 fell on the turn, Wojciechowski bet 200,000 and not long after, Heredia shoved for 620,000.

"This is so sick. You have pocket queens?" asked Wojciechowski before he called.

Pablo Heredia: QQ All in
Pawel Wojciechowski: 55

Indeed it was pocket queens for Beltran, which meant the two had both flopped a set! Wojciechowski couldn't believe it, but there was still a way that the hand could become even sicker as he had a single out to scoop the pot.

Unfortunately for him, that didn't come on this occasion as the 3 on the river gave both players a full house, but Heredia's was better so he doubled up.

Mylonas Doubles Against Chorianopoulos

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Action folded to Ioannis Chorianopoulos who moved all in from the small blind. Georgios Mylonas picked up his silver watch that was resting on the table and put it on his wrist before calling for his last 500,000 in the big blind.

Georgios Mylonas: 66 All in
Ioannis Chorianopoulos: K5

Chorianopoulos was looking for a king to earn the first knockout of the final table, but Mylonas held on through the 43QQ3 board to earn the double up.

Adrian Cazacu Eliminated in 10th Place (€2,645)

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Adrian Cazacu
Adrian Cazacu

Wow, a huge hand just burst the final table bubble.

Jan Bendik made it 100,000 to go from the small blind and Adrian Cazacu called from the big blind.

The flop came 86J and Bendik continued with a bet of 110,000, which was met with a raise to 300,000 from Cazacu. Bendik wasted no time in moving all in, and Cazacu called off his stack of around 1,400,000.

Adrian Cazacu: QJ All in
Jan Bendik: 109

Bendik had a chance to bring the tournament down to its final table, and would do so if he could connect with his open-ended straight draw. Despite not hitting his straight on the A turn, Bendik did add a lot more outs with a flush draw.

Cazacu needed to fade a lot to survive, but he couldn't do it as the 5 on the river completed the flush of Bendik. After thumping the table in frustration, Cazacu headed to the payout desk while the remaining nine players prepared themselves for the first final table of WSOPE.
