Garosshen Turns Up the Heat

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Kevin Garosshen
Kevin Garosshen

Joe Cada raised to 900 from middle position and was called by Kevin Garosshen from the cutoff, along with Larry Ormson from the small blind.

The {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} flop was checked to Garosshen who bet 1,200 and both opponents called.

The {3-Hearts} turn was checked around once again to Garosshen who continued with a 6,000 bet and only Cada called to see the {q-Diamonds} complete the board on the river.

Cada checked one last time and Garosshen who fired out a healthy 20,500. Cada thought for a moment but then mucked his hand giving Garosshen the pot.

Schulman Won't be Hooked by Kade

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Nick Schulman was all in preflop from the small blind and was called by Vanessa Kade from early position.

Vanessa Kade: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Nick Schulman: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The flop came down {2-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades} giving Kade top-set but Schulman was still alive holding the diamond draw. The {6-Diamonds} turn gave Schulman the nut flush and he faded the river as it came the {7-Clubs} securing his double.

Veksler Doubles Through Wong

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Pavlo Veksler
Pavlo Veksler

Action on the table folded around to the button player who raised to 1,200 and was called by Ralph Wong from the small blind, along with Pavlo Veksler from the big blind.

The {7-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop was checked to the initial raiser who continued for 2,500 and Wong raised to 8,500. Action was on Veksler who three-bet jammed for 34,700 and was called by Wong.

Ralph Wong: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Pavlo Veksler: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Both players flopped two-pair but Veksler held the better hand and neither the {k-Diamonds} turn nor the {2-Clubs} river changed a thing.

Erik Seidel

Dylan Smith limped-in from under the gun and action folded to Erik Seidel who raised to 700 from the hijack. Shawn Daniels called from the cutoff, as did Ian Matakis on the button and action folded back to Smith who came along as well.

The flop came {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and action was checked to Daniels who fired out 2,000. Both Matakis and Seidel called while Smith folded and the {6-Hearts} fell on the turn.

Action was checked by all three players bringing the {k-Spades} river and action was checked around once again to showdown.

Seidel quickly rolled over {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} showing a full house to win the pot.

Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Action quickly folded around to Ryan Riess who raised to 700 on the button and Manig Loeser defended his big blind to see a {3-Spades}{q-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop fall.

Loeser check-called a 500 continuation bet from Riess and the {9-Clubs} turn was checked by both players.

Once the {10-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Loeser checked to Riess who fired out 2,600. Loeser took another peak at his cards and tossed out a call.

Riess rolled over broadway {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Loeser quickly mucked his hand.

Chris Brewer Transitions from Collegiate Runner to High-Stakes Pro

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

Not many experiences can ready you for the high-stakes poker scene, but Chris Brewer’s career as a collegiate runner at the University of Oregon has seemingly prepared him well for a life in pressure poker.

After waking up early every day to compete with the best runners in the world, life in poker is relatively simple by comparison for the 27-year-old from California. The schedule is much easier and the grind is more rewarding, which made for a smooth transition into a poker career immediately out of college.

Brewer has been on a tear both online and in live tournaments, something that he has only recently started playing with more frequency. His massive online success includes a quarterfinal finish in the 2020 WSOP $10,000 Online Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship and a recent win in the $10,000 High Roller tournament during partypoker's WPT Online series in May.

Brewer has also run well on the live tournament scene, where he had three top-three finishes at the Wynn High Rollers series at the end of 2020. In January, Brewer beat 21 entrants to claim the $113,400 first prize in the third event on tour at the Aria High Roller series.
