The three players are just finishing up their night at the cash game. Here's how the stacks look as the night wraps up. Each player bought in for $100,000.
Rafi Amit - $260,000
Tom "durrrr" Dwan - $78,000
Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies - $24,000
Mark Vos popped over to the PokerNews booth to check in on the day's action. When we asked if he was playing tomorrow he seemed unsure. Vos was looking to play today but registration closes after 90 minutes and he got here just after the second hour of play. Vos then decided to try and register just now for tomorrow, but was told registration was closed at midnight and would re-open in the morning. The other factor weighing in on the decision is Australia day, which Mark seems to want to celebrate in a major way.
If he doesn't stay and play tomorrow, he may hop on a plane to Atlanta. Although he doesn't think much of the city itself, he claims the women are second to none and he loves their "high-pitch" voices.
When all the chips were in the middle and the cards were on their backs, Jeff Fenech held against his opponents .
The boxer was able to bob and weave the first three cards off the deck when they fell . The turn hit him square in the nose when the fell and the river finished the hand.
On a flop of , Gary Benson checked to Chad Wiedenhoeft. Wiedenhoeft fired 3,000 and then the next player made the call. Benson called as well.
The turn was the and Benson checked. Wiedenhoeft fired 4,000 this time before the next player raised to 13,000. Benson called all-in for 11,200 and then Wiedenhoeft called the raise as well.
The river card was the and Wiedenhoeft fired 20,000. The other player folded and Wiedenhoeft scooped the small side pot before showing down with Benson.
Benson:
Wiedenhoeft:
Wiedenhoeft won the hand with a full house after the board paired on the river. Benson's flush was no good and he was sent to the rail. Wiedenhoeft moved up to 160,000 chips and looks to be the man to catch.
We just told you about the continuous battle between Dani Stern and Elliot Smith, well it's finally getting good.
Smith started things off with a raise to 1,800 UTG, and Stern in the hijack three-bet to 5,000. Mr. Smith went into his standard think tank before popping it up to 11,800 straight. Stern, not looking to back down whatsoever moved all in, and Smith insta-mucked.
Dani Stern let out a "weeeeeeee," before revealing and letting the table know "it's only because PokerNews is watching."
They're at it again, and as a result, Jeff Lisandro has chipped all the way up to 57,000 in chips.
Their most recent confrontation began with another 2,000 preflop raise from [Removed:415] in early position. Lisandro called from somewhere in the middle.
The flop came down and Doria checked to Lisandro who fired a 5,500 bet. Doria made the call.
The turn brought the and another check, bet (7,000), call sequence sent the action to the river -- .
Doria checked once more on the end and Lisandro shipped it all in -- a bet worth approximately 20,000 in chips. Doria opted to throw his cards away, leaving himself with right around 70,000 in chips.
We just overheard Van Marcus call for the cocktail server. He ordered seven shots of tequila for his table. He was under the impression there were only 20 minutes left in the day. Unfortunately for Marcus, there are about 40 minutes left.
The cocktail server came back and told Marcus they don't serve shots here in Studio 3 because there are no shot glasses. Marcus said, "Why don't we do shots in a normal glass?"
Things might start getting a little loose around here if the tequila starts flowing.
Tm Marsters opened with a raise to 1,800 from middle position. Jamie Glazier was in the small blind and made the call before the big blind moved all in for 10,500. Marsters tanked and then folded his hand. Glazier tanked next, but also folded.
We witnessed Kostas Loutzianakis eliminate Australia's Greg Shillig a while ago, but we've stumbled by his table once again and he's now built an impressive stack.
As Loutzianakis recalled to our field reporter (who happens to speak Greek), he managed to accumulate the chips after managing to take a 120,000 pot of an opponent, calling his bets all the way down a board of with ; catching out the opponent who tabled for a total airball.
As a result Loutzianakis is currently on 121,500 in chips.
