Alejandro Ganivet opened in middle position and got three callers, including Albert Grane in the big blind.
Action checked to Ganivet on the flop of 2♦6♠6♥ and he continued for 8,000. Grane check-raised to 30,000 and Ganivet called. Grane then bet 20,000 on the 2♣ turn and Ganivet again called.
The 9♣ river completed the board and Grane moved all in, putting Ganivet to the test for his remaining 40,000. Ganivet called and waited as hands at other tables played out.
The cards were eventually turned over and Grane showed J♦6♦ for a full house to crush the K♦K♥ of Ganivet, who was one of three players to fall on the money bubble.
"I would've called if I were you," table mate Brock Wilson had said before the cards were revealed.
Four all-in and call situations occurred at the same time.
First, Damien Gayer opened from under the gun and Paul Tait defended from the big blind. Gayer bet a single blind on a flop of 9♦J♣9♣ and was called, then raised all-in on the 4♣ turn. Tait called off his last 30,000.
Paul Tait: J♠J♥
Damien Gayer: A♠Q♥
It was an easy win for Tait who flopped a full house. The K♣ completed the board and he doubled up.
At another table, Merijn van Rooij in the big blind was at risk for 75,000 against Jon Sataoen in the cutoff.
Merijn van Rooij: A♠J♦
Jon Sataoen: 8♣8♥
Van Rooij didn't win the flip on 10♥5♠K♥2♠4♣ and was eliminated on the bubble.
On the first hand of hand-for-hand play, Sindre Hansen was in the big blind and moved all in for 49,000 on a flop of 10♥8♦4♥. Ramon Munoz put him at risk in early position.
Sindre Hansen: 10♠10♦
Ramon Munoz: J♣J♠
Munoz had an overpair, but Hansen had flopped top set to take the lead. The rest of the board ran out 5♠A♣ and Hansen doubled up.
Yuri Martins got in his last 278,000 from the cutoff and Danilo Ramos put him at risk under the gun.
Yuri Martins: A♣A♦
Danilo Ramos: J♥J♣
Martins showed down a pair of aces and held on through the 3♠4♣4♦Q♦5♦ board to earn the double up.
At the same time at another table, Yidi Ni was all in for around 150,000 from the button and up against Oleh Plaksii in the hijack.
Yidi Ni: 4♣4♠
Oleh Plaksii: J♥J♦
Two jacks were in the lead this time as Plaksii had his opponent crushed. Ni ended up rivering a set on the 10♣5♦2♦6♦4♦ board, but the same card gave Plaksii a flush and sent Ni to the rail.
Phillip Corion made it 10,000 from the hijack and Michael Uguccioni called on the button. Ramon Colillas squeezed it up to 42,000 from the small blind and Corion shoved for 170,000. Ugoccioni tank-folded, but Colillas instantly called.
Phillip Corion: A♣K♦
Ramon Colillas: A♥A♦
Corion was in terrible shape with big slick against Colillas' bullets and found no help on the J♣5♥8♠6♠9♥ runout.
Corion headed to rail, and the remaining players were one step closer to the money.
Day 3 of the €5,300 EPT Barcelona Main Event at the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona kicks off at noon local time inside Casino Barcelona and will see 303 lucky players locking up a payday of at least €8,550. But that means ten players will be going home empty-handed as 313 players remain with the money bubble looming.
It shouldn't take long for the money bubble to burst on Day 3 as big stacks like Finland's Lauri Saaskilahti, Poland's Michal Kil and chip leader Jacob Amsellem of France apply the pressure on short stacks including Marco Bich, Andres Korn, Conor Beresford and PokerStars ambassador Kenny Hallaert.
