Lam Gets an Early Boost

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Markus Thimm opened the button to 25,000 and got a call from Sam Lam in the big blind.

Lam checked the A54 flop with a stack of around 120,000, then Thimm fired 50,000. Lam used some extra time before he decided to make it 105,000, leaving just 16,000 behind.

Thimm rechecked his cards and came to the conclusion that they were no good, which gave the short-stacked Lam a nice boost to his stack early on Day 4.

Alexandros Michas and Evgenii Sboev built a pot of around 300,000 as they went heads-up to the 254 flop. Michas then bet 77,000 from under the gun and Sboev called on the button.

Both players checked the Q turn. Michas then bet 170,000 on the 5 river, and he barely had time to finish putting the chips in before Sboev announced a call.

Michas turned over AQ, but Sboev had KK to win the big pot.

Two Pair for King

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Hugo Gotuzzo opened to 25,000 from middle position. Nolan King called from the button, as well as Luka Bojovic from the big blind.

Gotuzzo continued for 32,000 on a flop of 622. King called, but Bojovic check-folded at this point.

Gotuzzo fired a second barrel of 62,000 on the 10 turn and was called once again to discover the 8 river that he checked.

King took a sip of his beer and eventually checked back. Gotuzzo flipped over 87 for two pair, but King with Q10 had a better two pair.

Maciel Doubles; Lam Exits

Heitor Maciel

Michael Uguccioni raised from under the gun to 24,000 and Heitor Maciel shoved 243,000 from middle position. When it got back to Uguccioni, he took around 20 seconds before he dropped in the call.

Heitor Maciel: 1010 All in
Michael Uguccioni: AQ

Maciel was flipping for his tournament life, and probably lost some hope when he saw the A hit the flop. Fortunately for Maciel, it was followed by 102, which gave him a set. No improvement came for Uguccioni on the 3J runout, and Maciel doubled up.

At the same time, Chau Shing Lam got in his stack of 126,000 with ace-seven and ran into the AK of [Removed:551]. No help arrived for Lam, and he hit the rail.

Mantor Snaps Off Mangroe to Double

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Heads-up on a flop of Q62, Didrik Mantor bet 30,000 from early position and Firoz Mangroe called in the big blind.

The turn was the 8 and Mantor bet another 65,000. Mangroe again called and the 3 fell on the river.
