Rifat Palevic made it 55,000 from under the gun and Tobias Leknes three-bet the cutoff to 175,000. Tan Le called off his stack in the big blind, and Palevic also called.
The flop came 10♥10♣3♠ and Palevic checked it over to Leknes, who bet 60,000. Palevic folded A♦Q♠.
Tan Le: K♣K♥
Tobias Leknes: K♦10♦
Le was drawing to just one out, the last remaining king in the deck, but that never appeared as the 3♥Q♣ runout sent him to the rail.
Heads-up on a flop of 7♠K♣9♥, El Mostafa Bel Khayate bet 75,000 from the small blind and Cesar Garcia called under the gun.
The turn was the 8♥ and Bel Khayate bet another 250,000. Garcia again called and the Q♥ fell on the river. Bel Khayate then bet 525,000.
Garcia leaned back in his seat and let out a deep sigh as Bel Khayate already began celebrating. Garcia eventually called and Bel Khayate showed J♣J♠, but Garcia had 9♦9♣ for a set to win the pot.
Hiroki Karatsu raised the button to 50,000 with J♥J♦ and Ramon Colillas called in the big blind with the 7♦ and a mystery card.
They both caught a piece of the 3♦7♣J♠ flop and after Colillas checked, Karatsu bet 25,000. Colillas called to the K♦ turn, where he checked again, only to see a bet of 130,000 from Karatsu and his set. Colillas called.
A 4♣ fell on the river and Colillas bet 30,000. Karatsu used some extra time before he made it 200,000, and Colillas snap-folded.
Umberto Zaffagnini bet 25,000 from the hijack on a flop of K♠9♣2♠ and Michael Uguccioni raised to 125,000 in the big blind. Zaffagnini called and the turn came the 10♠.
Uguccioni then bet another 125,000 and Zaffagnini again called. The river was the 7♦ and Uguccioni slid forward a tower of green 25,000 chips for a bet of 500,000. Zaffagnini snap-called.
Uguccioni turned over A♠3♥, while Zaffagnini had Q♥J♣ for a straight to win the pot.
After the hand, a tournament official arrived at the table to warn the players about taking too long each hand, threatening to reduce their time to act to five seconds if it continues.
"That's why there's a time bank. You can't do that," Leo Worthington-Leese protested.
A few hands later at this table, Petrus Brandt got in his last 370,000 from the big blind and was up against Alexandros Michas in the small blind.
Petrus Brandt: A♠A♦
Alexandros Michas: A♣J♠
Brandt had woken up with aces and hit the last one in the deck on the A♥Q♥3♠ flop to make top set. The rest of the board ran out 4♦Q♦ and he doubled up.
Andre Plaza Marcano moved all in for 205,000 from the cutoff and Martin Nielsen called in the small blind.
Andre Plaza Marcano: A♠2♥
Martin Nielsen: A♦J♣
Plaza Marcano was dominated and at risk as the 5♥10♠3♥ flop gave him outs to a straight. The turn was the 9♠, while the 4♣ river completed his straight and earned him a double-up.
At another table, Juan Carlos Vecino and Olivier Fazio went heads-up to the turn on a board of A♣5♣Q♣4♦. Both players then got all their chips in the middle.
Fazio showed A♠Q♠ for two pair, while Vecino had A♦10♣. Fazio was poised to take the pot until the 7♣ fell on the river, giving Vecino a flush. The stacks were counted down, and Vecino had Fazio's remaining 715,000 barely covered, sending him to the rail.
Cards went on their backs with Evgenii Sboev and his 660,000-chip stack on one side and Luka Bojovic on the other side.
Luka Bojovic: 4♦4x
Evgenii Sboev: Q♠Q♣
Sboev's queens held on a board of 3♦A♠5♠6♠3♥ so he won the pot. Both stacks were pretty close, so they were both counted. Bojovic was slightly covered and he was eliminated.
