Foggin Shows Down Queens; Tang Running Hot

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Marc Foggin raised to 50,000 in the hijack before Anatoly Nikitin three-bet to 150,000 in the cutoff. Foggin then four-bet to 375,000, and Nikitin called.

The flop came 9A8 and Foggin bet 85,000. Nikitin called, and they both checked down the 5 turn and 4 river.

Foggin turned over QQ, and Nikitin mucked.

At another table, Yifan Tang raised to 60,000 on the button and Ezra Abu Gazal called in the big blind.

Tang continued for 30,000 on the 884 flop and Abu Gazal called.

The turn was the K and Tang bet another 80,000. Abu Gazal again called to the 10 river, where Tang bet 185,000. Abu Gazal quickly called, andn Tang showed A8 for flopped trips to win the pot.

"He's running hot," tablemate Jon Kyte said.

Andrew Kang raised to 60,000 in the cutoff and Robert van Hoose just flat-called on the button. Robert Webb also tagged along from the big blind to see a flop of 1052. Webb open-shoved all in for just over 300,000 which forced a fold from Kang but Van Hoose quickly called off the last of his 295,000 chips.

Webb flopped top pair but it was no match for the pocket aces of Van Hoose. The J on the turn and the 2 on the river secured the double up for Van Hoose, leaving Webb with just 45,000 chips.

On the next hand, Kang raised to 60,000 again and Webb stuck in the last of his chips from the small blind. Kang flipped over AQ and was up against the 108 of Webb. The board ran out J923A and Webb was unable to connect, bowing out in 20th place.

Salim Majlaton raised to 75,000 in the hijack, Yifan Tang moved all in for 600,000 in the small blind, and Majlaton called.

Tang had Majlaton dominated and was poised for a double up until the flop brought Q59, giving Majlaton top pair and the lead. The turn, though, was the K and Tang moved back in front with a pair of kings. The river was the 6 and Tang doubled up.

At another table, Yusei Iyama and Terrance Reid were involved in a blind-versus-blind battle on a board of J52K6. Iyama then bet 350,000, and Reid called.

Iyama could only show Q9 for queen-high, while Reid had K4 for top pair to win the pot.

Jim Collopy opened to 55,000 from under the gun and Aaron Massey three-bet to 165,000 in the hijack. The action was back on Collopy who made it 305,000 to go. Massey five-bet shoved all in and Collopy called off his stack of 990,000.

Not onyl did Collopy have the better of the two pocket pairs, but he also had both of the suits covered. The board ran out A64K9 and Collopy's set of aces led to his double up and left Massey with just 40,000 chips.

On the next hand, Massey moved all in and Nikolai Mamut min-raised to 70,000 in the cutoff. The rest of the table folded and the two hands were tabled.
