Back at the Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju in September 2025, PokerNews sat down with Triton CEO Andy Wong for an in-depth conversation about the growth of one of poker’s most ambitious tours.
From creating an environment built around the world’s biggest names to fostering the unique atmosphere that has helped define the Triton experience, Wong reflected on the philosophy behind the brand and what continues to drive its rapid expansion.
The discussion also explored the “secret formula” behind Triton’s success, the importance of community at the highest stakes, and why the tour sees itself as more than just another poker series.
A cool feature you might not know about in the Triton Poker Plus app is Triton Fantasy. It’s completely free-to-play and works much like fantasy football in the Premier League or NFL.
For each event, you build a six-player roster, select a captain (come on Ben Heath!), add two boosters, and compete against other poker fans throughout the series.
If you fancy yourself as a strong judge of high roller talent, now’s your chance to prove it.
While the $50K NLH 8-Handed plays down to a winner, attention will also turn to Event #7: the $30,000 NLH Turbo, the first turbo event of the Triton Montenegro stop.
The single-day event is expected to attract another packed field of high rollers looking for fast-paced action, with players starting with 200,000 chips and battling through 20-minute levels for the opening eight levels of play. From Level 9 onwards, the clock drops to 15 minutes.
Late registration remains open for the first eight levels, giving players busted from the $50K event a chance to jump straight into another shot at Triton glory.
Yu Zhang, Mikita Badziakouski, and Artur Martirosian were the first three players eliminated on the final day of the $50K NLH 8-Handed, leaving the tournament on the stone bubble.
Zhang was first to fall after his pocket fours couldn’t hold against Christopher Nguyen’s jack-seven, while Badziakouski and Martirosian both exited in brutal cooler spots shortly after.
Badziakouski ran ace-king suited into the pocket kings of Selahaddin Bedir, and moments later Martirosian’s queens were dominated by the pocket kings of Javid Ismayilov.
With 24 players remaining and 23 paid, David D’Alessandro, Nick Petrangelo, Ramin Hajiyev, and Mehdi Chaoui are among the shortest stacks, all sitting on fewer than ten big blinds.
The final day of the $50K NLH 8-Handed event at Triton Montenegro is now underway, with 27 players returning to battle for the $1,535,000 top prize.
The tournament drew 132 entries to create a $6.6 million prize pool, but with only 23 spots paid, the opening stages of play could be cautious as players look to avoid falling just short of the money. A min-cash is worth $77,000, while everyone still in contention has their eyes fixed on the seven-figure first prize.
A Canadian one-two leads the way into the final day, with Kristen Foxen bagging the chip lead ahead of fellow high roller Dan Dvoress. Triton’s all-time title leader and PokerStars ambassador Jason Koon sits close behind in third as he hunts another deep run on the tour.
Also still in contention are Daniel Rezaei, Alisson Piekazewicz, Christopher Nguyen, Paulius Vaitiekunas, Javid Ismayilov, Joao Simao, and Alexandre Reard, with the top ten all separated by fewer than 35 big blinds.
Fans can follow the action live on Triton Poker’s YouTube channel as the field races toward the money and the first Triton title of the Montenegro stop.
Fedor Holz might not play much poker these days, but he’s clearly still got it.
The German superstar took down the $40K Mystery Bounty at Triton Montenegro for his fifth Triton title, banking $528,811 from a $4,440,000 prize pool plus a pile of mystery bounties after a heads-up deal with Aleksejs Ponakovs.
And that figure is only going one way. Holz collected 11 mystery bounties during the event, each worth at least $40,000, meaning his total haul will likely push beyond the $1 million mark once all the envelopes are redeemed.
Holz sent out Alex Theologis on the stone bubble, alongside Wai Kiat Lee after cracking kings and jacks with six-four, before rolling through a stacked final table featuring Mike Watson, Nick Petrangelo, and Jean-Noel Thorel.

Theologis Runs Bad on the Bubble
The event attracted 111 entries, with the top 17 places paid, and Holz found himself at the center of the bubble drama.
With 18 players remaining, Holz limped in from under the gun with 6♠4♠ before Theologis raised from the cutoff holding A♦A♠. Christoph Vogelsang called from the small blind with A♥Q♠, and Holz came along as well.
Theologis continued for 110,000 on the K♠Q♣4♣ flop and received calls from both opponents.
The 4♥ turn gave Holz trip fours to vault from worst to first. Theologis fired another 270,000, leaving himself 590,000 behind, while Vogelsang got out of the way. Holz then moved all in as the covering stack.
After burning through a large chunk of his Triton Tempo shot clock, Theologis somehow found the fold in what may go down as one of the best laydowns of the year.
But the escape lasted all of one hand.
On the very next deal, Kiat Lee opened with pocket kings before Theologis committed his final 24 big blinds with pocket jacks. Holz woke up with six-four in the big blind once again and reshoved, with Kiat Lee also committing his 34 big blind stack.
Theologis was the only player at risk of bubbling the tournament, as the min-cash would not be split with both players eliminated at the same table. Had the all-ins happened separately, the payout would have been shared.
Holz spiked a six on the flop to pick up immediate outs before improving to two pair on the river, cracking both pocket pairs to send Theologis out on the stone bubble.
Mario Mosböck added another chapter to what is rapidly becoming one of the standout Triton résumés in poker, defeating fellow ambassador Danny Tang heads-up to win Event #3: $30,000 NLH 8-Handed at Triton Poker Montenegro.
The Austrian collected $928,000 for the victory, securing the fourth Triton title of his career after surviving one of the most dramatic and swing-heavy final tables of the series so far.
And if the final few hours are anything to go by, Mosböck’s YouTube channel should make for essential viewing over the next couple of weeks.
A Final Table Packed With Heavyweights
The $30K event drew 133 entries and generated a $3,990,000 prize pool, with some of the biggest names in poker returning for Day 2.
Mosböck entered the final table as chip leader, narrowly ahead of Tang, while Kristen Foxen, Patrik Antonius, Adrian Mateos, Fedor Holz, and Eelis Pärssinen were all among the deep runners in another stacked Triton field.
The pace early on was relentless. The field went from 20 players to the final table in barely 90 minutes, with Mateos, Pärssinen and Antonius all falling before the closing stages tightened considerably.
From there, the tournament evolved into a marathon.
Foxen, Tang, Mosböck and Javid Ismayilov all spent time with the chip lead during a four-handed battle that swung wildly from orbit to orbit, with repeated doubles and brutal coolers keeping the tournament alive deep into the night.
Triton Ambassadors Collide Heads-Up
Mosbock Tang
For the first time in Triton Poker history, two Triton ambassadors reached heads-up play against one another.
Tang entered the duel chasing a sixth Triton title, while Mosböck was looking to pull level with friend and mentor Fedor Holz on four.
The match itself delivered exactly the kind of drama the line-up deserved.
At one stage, Tang reduced Mosböck to just eight big blinds and appeared close to sealing the victory, only for Mosböck to survive after flopping trips in a king-versus-king confrontation.
Later, with both players hovering around the 13-blind mark, Mosböck rivered a straight in a massive all-in pot holding queen-jack against Tang’s king-five to swing momentum completely back in his favour.
Tang still refused to go quietly, doubling twice to keep the match alive before the final hand arrived.
Tang moved all in with queen-six and Mosböck called with pocket tens. A queen on the flop pushed Tang ahead, but the runout completed a straight for Mosböck on the river, finally bringing an end to a chaotic and unforgettable heads-up battle.
The festival keeps rolling at Maestral Casino & Resort, and after another headline-filled day on the Adriatic coast, attention now turns to a Sunday schedule packed with high-stakes action.
Yesterday saw Mario Mosboeck capture the $30,000 No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed title, adding another Triton trophy to his growing collection after battling through one of the toughest final days of the series so far.
Now the focus shifts to the conclusion of the $40,000 Mystery Bounty, with Day 2 set to play down to a winner and plenty of huge bounty pulls still waiting to be claimed.
Alongside that, the brand new $50,000 NLH 8-Handed gets underway this afternoon and is expected to bring yet another star-studded field to the tables in Montenegro.
