Laplante Brings the Action

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Ryan Laplante had just been moved to his new table when this hand happened.

After James Ostrowski raised to 1,600, Laplante then three-bet to 5,000, which was met by a four-bet shove from Franco Amorelli in the cutoff. Action then folded to Lloyd Mandel in the small blind and he asked for a count. The dealer confirmed 41,500 total, at which time Mandel then five-bet shoved all in which got folds from Ostrowski, and then by Laplante who folded {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} face up.

Franco Amorelli: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Lloyd Mandel: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

After both players tabled their hands Amorelli saw that his pair was dominated by Mandel's much bigger pair, which was still troublesome on the {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop. However, none of that mattered after the dealer fanned the {8-Clubs} on the turn and {j-Diamonds} on the river, which gave Amorelli a full house and a full double-up.

Minkin Regrets her Call

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Kelly Minkin opened to 2,000 in the middle position and it folded to the small blind who made the call.

The flop fell {4-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{10-Spades} and Minkin's opponent check-called her continuation bet of 2,200. Both players checked when a {5-Spades} came on the turn.

The {10-Clubs} completed the board on the river and this time the small blind player led for 4,500. After some thoughts, Minkin chose to call but mucked her hand when her opponent tabled {q-Spades}{j-Spades} for the flush. "Ok, just so you know, from now on I'm playing good, no more call!" said Minkin with a smile.

A Not-too-Divine Time to Chop

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Rulah Divine raised from under-the-gun to 1,300 and got two callers. When action got to Yassine El Fouladi on the button, he then three-bet shoved all in. Divine four-bet shoved behind and the other two callers folded their hands.

Yassine El Fouladi: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Rulah Divine: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Fouladi had the bigger ace and looked prime for a full double-up, until the board ran out {9-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}, which resulted in a chopped pot and gave Fouladi only a few more chips than he originally started with in the hand.

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

It folded to Alex Fowen in the small blind who completed and Pierre Merlin checked his option.

The flop showed {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and after some thoughts, Foxen check-called Merlin's bet for 1,000. The turn fell a {3-Clubs} and Foxen checked once more. Merlin bet 2,400, leaving him with around 12,000 left behind and Foxen chose to let it go.

Berkey Gets Paid

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

On a board already showing {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} with a pot around 6,000, Matt Berkey had bet 4,600 and got called by his opponent after a short tank. Berkey tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for two pair, which was enough to make his opponent muck his hand.
