Lappin Among the Late Entrants

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Several players opted to enter on Day 2 instead of the final starting day which is expected to commence at noon. David Lappin was among them and the Irishman was spotted winning an early pot.

He defended the big blind against a button raise and they checked the {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} turn. Lappin then bet the {4-Spades} river for 6,000 and the button folded.

Duncan continued with a bet of 6,000 on the flop reading {2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Matusow called. Duncan fired a bet of 11,000 on the {5-Spades} turn and Matusow stared at his opponent before electing to fold.

"Nice hand," Matusow said quietly.

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

The pot was about 21,000 and the board read {8-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Robert Hankins jammed for 13,300. David Dean went deep into the tank.

He leaned back and thought it out. Eventually he folded to keep Hankins alive who flashed the {a-Spades} and didn't quite show the second card behind before raking in the pot.
