Waxman Calls Down Jewett

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

With around 200,000 in the middle already and the board reading {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, Matthew Jewett led out with a bet of 130,000 from the big blind. Matt Waxman called and the {5-Spades} paired the board on the river.

Jewett sized down with a bet of just 65,000 this time. Waxman thought for a moment and then called. Jewett announced fours and fives but Waxman wanted to see his {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Waxman then turned over {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a better two pair to scoop the pot.

Renz Doubles Through Wilson

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Brock Wilson shoved for approximately 140,000 from the hijack and action folded to Christina Renz in the small blind, who went all in for her last 108,000.

Brock Wilson: {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Chritina Renz: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Renz was ahead with her pocket pair and the {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} runout kept her tens best for the double up.

First Break of the Day

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The players are on their first break of the day as the tournament clock reads 748 remaining in what was a bloody first level for the short stacks.

Here are some of the highlights of the first level of the day:

Ramdin Doubles With a Twist

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Victor Ramdin
Victor Ramdin

Following an initial raise and button cold-call by Arkadi Onikoul, it was Victor Ramdin who squeezed from the big blind. The initial raiser went over the top and Onikoul folded while Ramdin got his stack of 379,000 in preflop.

The initial raiser tabled the {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} while Ramdin was way ahead with the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}. That changed on the {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop but Ramdin regained the lead on the {q-Hearts} turn, then remained ahead on the {7-Hearts} river to secure the double up.
