Lavotaro Takes it on the Tun

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

In a three-way pot with 11,000 in the middle, the flop showed 10K9 when John Lavotaro checked in the big blind, followed a player in middle position and Cary Katz on the button.

The turn fell the A and Lavotaro led out for 5,000. It was enough to make his opponents fold and grab the pot.

Schubert Hits an Unnecessary Boat

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Melissa Schubert was in early position and facing a bet of 3,500 on a flop of 963. She called to see the 6 turn and checked over to her opponent again.

He fired out another 7,000 from middle position and Schubert again called. The river came the 10 and Schubert checked once more. Her opponent slowed down and checked this time, turning over K9 for two pair.

Schubert, though, had 1010 for the rivered full house. "I didn't need it," she said as she raked in the pot.

Benjamin Underwood, who has made five final tables at the WSOP since 2019, is also seated at this table.

Grandieri Takes it Down on the Turn

David Grandieri raised from under the gun to 600. The big blind defended as both players headed to a flop.

The flop came 9J5, and the big blind quickly checked to Grandieri. He led out for 800 and was quickly called.

While the Q peeled off on the turn, the big blind checked again. Grandieri fired for 1,400 and his opponent folded for him to scoop the pot.

George Alexander sat in the cutoff and raised to 600, the player in the big blind made the call. The flop came out 24Q. The big blind checked and Alexander made a continuation bet of 1,000 and received a call.

The turn Q brought another bet of 1,400 by Alexander once he saw that the big blind had checked.

The river J had the big blind check again and Alexander continued betting and made it 3,000 and received a call. Alexander flipped over KQ for trips and the big blind mucked.

Sylvia Raises it Away from Heimiller on the River

In a heads-up pot, the flop read 1099 and Dan Heimiller led out for 1,100 into the pot of 1,900. Jesse Sylvia made the call.

The K hit the turn, Heimiller snap-checked, and Sylvia checked back after a short pause.

When the 4 landed, Heimiller stared at the board for about 10 seconds before making a bet of 2,000. Sylvia thought about it for about five seconds before announcing a raise to 14,000. Heimiller scoffed and pitched his cards into the muck.

Eights Enough For Lin

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

A player opened to 700 from middle position and was three-bet to 2,000 by Ren Lin in the cutoff. The player in the big blind called cold and the initial raiser folded.

The big blind checked-called a 2,000 bet from Lin on the 1082 flop and then both player checked down on the 4 turn and 2 river.

The big blind turned over 33, but it was no good against Lin's 85 for a pair of eights and Lin collected the pot.

Marsico Shows the Winner

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

A player in early position limped before Mike Marsico raised from late position. The player in the cutoff called as did the initial early position limper, leading to a KJ7 flop.

The player in early position checked and Marsico threw out a bet of 1,200. The cutoff got out of the way but the early position player decided on a check-raise to 2,400.

Marsico called the min-raise three-bet and both players watched the dealer put the K out on the turn.

Action checked through to the 8 river and action checked through once again, taking both players to showdown.

The early position player tabled the Q7 before seeing Marsico show the QJ to take the pot down with a superior two pair.

Weinman Avoids Clinkscales Disaster

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Action was picked up on the turn in a hand between Weinman in the hijack and Rex Clinksclaes in the small blind.

The board read 51082 and Clinkscales bet 1,500 and Weinman called.

The river came the 4 and Clinkscales sized up to 5,000 and Weinman scrunched his eyebrows as he pondered his decision. He tossed in the call and Clinkscales turned over A7 for the nut flush. Weinman smiled as he showed J8 for a worse flush and he joked "that could have gotten a lot worse."
