Khalili up; Shulman Out

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Sohale Khalili and Bertrand Grospellier were heads-up on a 927 flop. Grospellier checked from the big blind and Khalili bet 4,000 from early position. Grospellier then check-rasied to 11,000 and Khalili called.

Grospellier continued for 18,000 on the 8 turn and Khalili again called.

The 7 completed the board and Grospellier slowed down and checked. Khalili thought for a while before deciding to bet 30,000 himself. Grospellier laid his hand down and Khalili was sent the pot.

At another table, Barry Shulman was eliminated.

Boatman Cracks Kings For a Double

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Three-handed on a board of 5J28, Barny Boatman bet 27,000 from middle position and was called by the cutoff, while another player in early position folded.

The river came the 5 and Boatman moved all in for 59,000. His opponent took a few seconds before putting in two green 25,000 chips to signify a call.

Boatman turned over 22 for the flopped set and his opponent flashed KK before mucking.

Elsewhere, Martin Zamani was just eliminated as his table then prepared to head off to the Horseshoe section.

Algarra Shows the Straight

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

David Algarra opened to 7,000 in the cutoff and picked up calls from the players in the blinds.

The flop came J8Q and it checked to Algarra who bet 8,000. Only the small blind chose to call.

The 8 turn didn't bring any action and a A fell on the river. The small blind led out for 22,000 and Algarra quickly called. The small blind revealed AQ but Algarra tabled 109 for the straight and took down the pot.

Aguero Benched

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Sergio Aguero
Sergio Aguero

After being left short by Bill Klein earlier in the level, Sergio Aguero's deep run came to an end.

As recounted by his former table, Aguero found himself all in and at risk for his last 6,000 chips, finding two callers.

Sergio Aguero: 5x5x
Opponent 1: Ax10x
Thien Chung WU: Qx10x

The pocket fives of Aguero couldn't hold as the board had Thien Chung WU's hand improve to a full house by the river.

Ohel's Good Hand Eliminates Marius-Co's Good Hand (With Bonus Commentary)

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Randy Ohel
Randy Ohel

Randy Ohel called a late position player's raise of 7,000 from the button. Nstantin Iftimia Marius-Co, the big blind, moved all in for 155,000. Ohel called, and the cards were turned over.

Nstantin Iftimia Marius-Co: AQ
Randy Ohel: 99

The monotone K34 flop most benefitted Ohel, who was the only one holding a spade. The flush completed on the 2 turn, and Marius-Co exited the tournament after the meaningless K river.

"Good game," Ohel told Marius-Co.

Andy Frankenberger, also at the table, joined Ohel to provide analysis to PokerNews after the hand.

"I think it threw him off when I asked for a count," said Ohel. "I told him 'I called with a good hand. I wish it was a really good hand.'"

"His opponent said 'I also have a good hand,'" added Frankenberger. "I think Randy read into that. I figured he was begging for a call with ace-king."

Both Vescio and Guillen checked on the Q turn and Guillen checked again on the 8 river. Vescio bet 16,000 and Guillen let his hand go after a bit of thought.

Larson Can't Hit his Draw

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Diego Daquilio raised 6,000 in the hijack and received calls from the cutoff, button, small blind, and Thomas Larson in the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of AJ8, and Larson check-called a bet of 11,000 from Daquilio, while the rest folded.

The 6 turn, and 4 river were checked down and Larson said "I missed," while tabling Q10. Daquilio tabled A3 for a pair of aces to drag the pot.

"I wish I could have hit," Larson concluded.
