2025 World Series of Poker
With two players seeing a board of 9♠3♠Q♣2♠ and 100,000 in the middle, Corey Wick checked from the hijack and Stephen Chidwick bet 75,000 from the cutoff. Wick called.
Chidwick continued for 230,000 when checked to on the 4♥ river. Wick shoved for just 12,000 more and Chidwick snap-called.
Wick had top pair with Q♥J♠ but Chidwick had the nut-flush with A♠4♠ to eliminate Wick and take down the sizable pot.
James Rann shoved for his last 13,000 first to act and was called by Alex Bergfors from directly behind, Kathy Liebert in the hijack, Kosaku Akashi in the cutoff, and Ihab Ali in the big blind for a five-way pot.
Ali checked to Bergfors, who bet 21,000 on the 9♣4♥A♦ flop. Everyone got out of the way and a showdown was held between Bergfors and Rann.
James Rann: 8♦7♠
Alex Bergfors: A♥5♠
"I need runner-runner," Rann said as he revealed his holding.
It was indeed bleak for Rann, and the 3♠ turn left him drawing dead.
The 5♥ river neednessly improved Bergfors to two pair to make Rann's elimination official.
Marijan Rankic moved all in for around 130,000 from middle position and Daehyung Lee put him at risk in the big blind.
Marijan Rankic: A♦K♦
Daehyung Lee: J♦J♣
Rankic was racking for his tournament life and took the lead on the 9♥K♥4♦ flop with top pair. The Q♥ turn left him a card away from a double up, but Lee spiked the J♥ on the river to make a set and send Rankic to the rail.
On a flop of 4♦9♣5♣, Gary Floyd was all in for around 50,000 with Jose Bogarin making the call to try and send him to the rail.
Gary Floyd: A♠J♠
Jose Bogarin: K♣8♣
Floyd had ace-high, but Bogarin had a pair and flush outs to win. The 8♥ fell on the turn and Bogarin was catapulted into the lead with a pair of eights. Bogarin improved to a flush on the 10♣ river, which meant Floyd was out.
When the action folded around to Andrejs Prost in the cutoff, he raised to 16,000. Next to act, Loic Debregeas, three-bet to 40,000. The players in the blinds both folded, and Prost responded by moving all in, covering Debregeas' stack of roughly 170,000.
Debregeas made the call, and the players flipped their cards over.
Loic Debregeas: Q♣Q♦
Andrejs Prost: K♥K♣
It was an unfortunate spot for Debregeas, and there was no bad beat to be dished out, as the board ran out 10♦4♣8♣9♣2♠, sending him to the rail.
Clement Meunier in early position and Ricardo Alvardo in middle position were already all in as Frank Flowers, Samuel Roussy-Majeau, and Kenneth Der went to the flop of 10♣5♠9♠ with around 220,000 in the pot.
Der then bet 20,000 from the hijack and Flowers called on the button. Roussy-Majeau also called in the big blind and the turn came the 6♥.
Action checked to Flowers who bet 225,000. Roussy-Majeau took a few minutes before folding, while Der quickly got out of the way.
Flowers turned over 9♥8♠ for a pair and straight draw, while Alvarado had A♥J♥. Meunier, though, was ahead with K♦K♣ and held on through the 10♦ river to take most of the pot, while Alvarado was sent to the rail.
The action folded to Jakub Michalak in the hijack who ripped all in for his last 111,000 chips. James Koller was in the big blind and made the call to put Michalak at risk.
Jakub Michalak: K♥Q♥
James Koller: 8♥8♣
The flop came J♦10♦3♥ and Michalak picked up even more outs with a straight draw. However, the 8♠ on the turn gave Koller a set of eights and the 6♠ on the river bricked out, forcing Michalak to the rail with a min-cash.
Simon Britton jammed for 71,000 from middle position and only Yaichi Fukao called from the small blind.
Simon Britton: A♠4♦
Yaichi Fukao: A♦7♣
Both players agreed that they wanted a chop, but the dealer disagreed and delivered a board of 5♥J♠2♣J♣8♥6♥. Fukao's ace-seven won the pot and Bitton was eliminated.
