Gerald Hanes raised to 2,200 from early position. Joshua Norvock on the button three-bet to 7,000 and Hanes called.
Norvock continued for 6,000 on the 9♥8♣4♥ flop. Hanes check-called and checked the Q♠ turn. Norvock then moved all-in and Hanes went deep into the tank before calling off his last 18,500.

Hanes ran into a set of queens. A jack could save him but the 7♦ landed on the river and he was eliminated.
Matthew Frankland opened from the cutoff and Mike Brady committed his last 2,600 into the middle from the big blind. Frankland called and a showdown was held.

The 4♣A♥J♦ flop gave Brady a glimmer of hope after pairing his four, but the 6♦ turn left Brady drawing dead after improving Frankland to a set.
An irrelevant 4♥ completed the board, making Brady's elimination official.
Thomas Heinrich limped in from the small blind. Jason Wheeler was in the big blind and raised to 4,000, to which Heinrich responded with a three-bet to 12,000.
Wheeler then four-bet jammed, and Heinrich called off for 53,000 after a long time in the tank.

"I would've played it the same way," Wheeler comforted Heinrich on his way out.
Patrick Wise raised to 2,500 in middle position before Liv Boeree three-bet to 6,000 in the hijack. Wise then four-bet to 18,000, and Boeree called.
The flop came 2♥J♠A♦ and Wise moved all in for 30,000. Boeree snap-called.

Wise showed top pair, but Boeree had flopped a set to take a big lead in the pot. The 3♦ turn left Wise drawing dead, while the K♥ river wasn't enough for him to avoid heading to the rail.
Jonathan Kramer raised to 2,000 under the gun, and when the action folded to Cameron Blazevich in the big blind, he moved all in. Kramer had the smaller of the two stacks, with just over 27,000, and made the call.

Hijack Maxwell Guo committed his last 20,000 into a pot of 15,000 on the 9♣2♦8♣7♦ turn, being up against Jared Inman in the cutoff.

Inman's straight had a big lead over Guo's two pair, and Guo was eliminated when the K♦ river completed the board.

Stephen Press chose to bet 7,500 on the button, but Anthony Moyers was willing to risk it all as they went all-in for approximately 33,000. Press was undeterred as they made the call to put Moyers at risk.

Press had the overpair, but it was a sweat as Moyers held top pair and a flush draw for a healthy amount of outs.
The 2♦ turn was a blank to keep Press ahead.

There were about 6,000 in the middle on the flop of 10♠Q♣9♠ when this hand was picked up. Jessica Cai and John Andrews had both put in 6,000 each on the flop before Shimiron Preis shipped it for 17,000. Andrews folded, but Cai quickly made the call to put Preis at risk.
