Craig Waikem called the button shove by the table short stack Celso Sirtoli and when the cards were flipped over, he declared "aces are hot".

Julio Chia checked the completed board of 7♦2♦Q♥8♥A♠ from the small blind to Patrick Crivell on the button. Crivell fired a pot-sized bet of 235,000, enough to put Chia all in.
Chia called after some thought. Crivell tabled Q♣7♥ for two pair, and Chia showed his no-good A♥10♥ as he departed the Main Event.
One table over, Christopher George raised to 25,000, Niall Duffy three-bet to 60,000, and Seth Maretz four-bet jammed for 183,000. George folded before Duffy reluctantly called.

Duffy flopped a flush draw on 4♠8♠4♦, but the remainder of the 9♣3♦ runout remained clean for Maretz to double up.
Joe Hachem and Christopher Storie went to the turn on a board of 8♠4♠3♠2♥ when Hachem bet 52,000 from the cutoff. Storie called in the small blind.
The river was the Q♥ and Hachem moved all in for 208,000. Storie tanked for several minutes as ESPN cameras began descending on the table. He eventually called to put Hachem at risk.
"Good call," Hachem told him, showing A♠J♥ for ace-high. Storie turned over A♣4♦ for a pair of fours to win the pot and send the 2005 champion to the rail.
Michael Gibbs was all in for 130,000 preflop and was up against Keanon Simon.

The 8♦10♦J♣ flop gave Gibbs extra outs, but the 4♣ turn and 8♠ river provided no help, eliminating him.
Over at an adjacent table, one of the start-of-day chipleaders, Levon Khachatryan, had been knocked out by Shreesh Hebbar. As recounted by the players at the table, Khachatryan got his pocket kings in preflop against Hebbar's ace-king suited for a huge pot.
Hebbar flopped a flush to leave Khachatryan drawing dead, sending him to an early exit.
Daniel Peraudo raised to 20,000 first to act and was called by Alex Foxen in the cutoff, Christopher Savage in the small blind, and Matthew O'Donnell in the big blind for a four-way pot.
Action folded to Foxen, who bet 80,000 on the 3♣10♠6♥ flop. Savage and O'Donnell folded, but Peraudo called.
Peraudo moved all in for his last couple hundred thousand on the A♣ turn and Foxen snap-called to put him at risk.

Foxen had Peraudo crushed with a set of threes, and the K♠ river changed nothing to score Foxen the knockout.
Tamer Halabi was all in preflop for about 200,000. Michael Mccray pushed in his stack of 286,000, and Niel Mittelman called them both with the covering stack.

The 2♦10♣5♦6♠7♣ board helped none of the players. Mccray's aces held to scoop all the chips, knocking out Halabi and nearly tripling up.
Nearly 400,000 was in the middle as Tal Herzog and Chris Dowling went to a flop of J♦6♦4♥. Dowling then bet 70,000 from the small blind, and Herzog called in the big blind.
The turn was the 10♠ and Dowling, who only had around 20,000 behind, moved all in. Herzog called, and Dowling turned over Q♠Q♥. Herzog, though, had flopped top set with J♠J♥.
The river was the 8♠ and Herzog took down the big pot to send Dowling to the rail.
Roman Romm opened to 20,000 in early position and only Scott Sterling called in the small blind.
The Q♠7♠2♦ flop checked through to the J♠ turn which saw Sterling lead for 35,000. Romm responded by moving all in for his final 121,000. Sterling confirmed the count before a small tank, but he ultimately called to put Sterling at risk.

Romm was in good shape with his overpair and spade against the top pair of Sterling. However, Romm still needed to fade four outs, which he could not do on the Q♦ river, giving Sterling trip queens to crack Romm's kings and send him to the rail in brutal fashion.
