Roelke Isn't Messing Around

Brian Roelke raised to 80,000 from the cutoff and was called by Alexander James on the button and Marc Goldman in the big blind for a three-way pot.

Goldman checked to Roelke, who showed little hesitation before sticking in a bet of 200,000 on the Q♥J♠7♣ flop. James folded, but Goldman called.

The 6♥ fell on the turn and Goldman checked again. Roelke quickly pushed a hefty bet of 600,000 into the middle, which got a "Okay Brian" and a fold from Goldman to award Roelke the pot.

James was eliminated shortly after the hand.

Heads up to the 5♦7♣8♥ flop, Christopher Chaudey checked from the big blind to Jared Passanante on the button. Passanante bet 80,000, which Chaudey, with his dog sitting on his lap, raised to 255,000.

After a while in thought, Passanante three-bet jammed for roughly 1,200,000. Chaudey asked for a count but called halfway through.

Christopher Chaudey: 7♥5♥

The 10♥ gave Passanante a pair, but Chaudey added a flush draw to his two pair. The 2♣ river was a big blank, and Passanante said his goodbyes to the table before heading to the rail.

Li Chengbei raised to 80,000 in the hijack and Arturas Astrauskas raised to 175,000 on the button to see action fold back to Chengbei. Chengbei moved all in for 710,000 and Astrauskas called.

The flop of K♣J♠10♥ gave Chengbei flopped Broadway against Astrauskas' pair of jacks, who almost celebrated before seeing his opponent flopped a straight. Astrauskas picked up some outs to win as he improved to three jacks on the J♥ turn.

"Yes!" screamed Astrauskas on the river 10♦ that gave him jacks full of tens to eliminate Chengbei from the tournament.

"Wow," table mate Greg Mueller reacted, "From flopping the joint to out."

"Lucky Corona!" replied Astrauskas as he raised his cup while the pot was pushed towards him.

Sam Snead raised to 150,000 in early position and Raul Reyna called in the hijack. Truong Nguyen then three-bet to 500,000 in the cutoff, and only Snead called.

"Chips fly at this table, Virginia. Better lock in," Will Givens said to Curtis Nare, who had only just arrived at the table. Nguyen and Snead then went to a flop of J♣6♠3♥, where Nguyen moved all in for 350,000.

"I feel I'm beat, but I can't fold now," Snead said as he called to put Nguyen at risk.

Sam Snead: 6♥6♣

"I thought he had jacks," Snead said after revealing his set of sixes. The 6♦ turn then improved him to quads, and the 4♥ river sealed Nguyen's elimination.

"You played so well," Givens said, standing up to give Nguyen a handshake before Nguyen made his exit.

The board ran out J♣4♣3♣10♣3♥ and the queens held up for Tropp to eliminate the WSOP bracelet winner from the tournament.

Brian Roelke raised to 85,000 from under the gun and was called by Marc Goldman in the hijack. Ryan Riess then announced a squeeze to 380,000 from the small blind — leaving himself just 5,000 behind. Roelke moved all in for 1,800,000 and Goldman let his hand go after asking for a count. Riess tossed his last chip into the middle and hands were revealed.

Riess found himself dominated and in even worse shape after the K♦4♦Q♦ flop paired both players' kickers.

Riess was looking to hit trips, but the 5♥4♣ runout kept Roelke ahead with his pair of kings to send the 2013 champ to the rail.

Alex Foxen jammed all in on the button for 365,000. Ryan Miller called in the small blind before Dan Stavila three-bet to 905,000 in the big blind. Miller responded by reshoving, and Stavila immediately called off his 3,105,000.
