Brutal Runout Sinks Campos' Main Event Journey

Aaron Barone raised from under the gun and Arthur Campos jammed for around 1,300,000 from the big blind. Barone made the call with slightly more chips.

It was a huge flip that would play a pivotal role in both players' Main Event futures.

Barone looked to have it locked up after the A♣A♦ gave him trips, making up two-thirds of the flop. However, it was completed by the J♠, giving Campos jacks full of aces.

The 5♥ turn didn't change anything, but the 5♣ river double-paired the board, improving Barone to a better boat to end Campos' deep run.

Kevin Ordet opened to 160,000 from middle position. Hugues Girard in the small blind jammed for 270,000, then Akihiro Konishi in the big blind four-bet to 500,000. Ordet with 10♠8♠ decided to call.

Konishi continued for 400,000 on a flop of 9♣6♣6♠, and Ordet folded.

David Paredes jammed his remaining 850,000 in from the hijack, and Arturas Astrauskas looked him up from the small blind.

Paredes flopped best on 9♦10♦6♣, giving him a pair to take the lead. Astruaskas gained a lot of outs on the Q♦ turn, and the 8♦ river provided him with a flush to send his opponent to the exit.

Simultaneously, Sarah Lee was eliminated at another table with a similar stack.

Patrick Hagenlocher moved all in for 925,000 in the hijack as action went on Greg Mueller in the small blind. He tanked for a few minutes but eventually gave up his hand. Kyle Scott, however, called in the big blind. "I only looked at one," Hagenlocher said as they turned over their cards.

Hagenlocher was looking for an ace to survive, and picked up additional outs on the J♦6♥8♥J♣. "That's a good one," he said about the jack on the turn as he could counterfeit Scott's pair, but the 7♥ river was no help and he was eliminated.

"I was rooting for you. Good job," Wesley Fei told Hagenlocher as he came over from another table to give him a fist bump.

"You lose to me too," Mueller added.

With a 60-minute delay, the stream revealed Darren Rabinowitz's elimination. Rami Hammoud first opened to 120,000 from middle position, but Rabinowitz on the button three-bet to 310,000. Hammoud moved all in for 3,620,000, and Rabinowitz called, finding himself at risk for 1,385,000.

From the big blind, Vy Nguyen led out for about 300,000 on a board of K♣J♦2♣4♥, and John O'Neal called from the cutoff.

The J♠ completed the board, prompting Nguyen to check. O'Neal jammed, and Nguyen quickly called off his remaining 850,000 or so.

O'Neal tabled A♦J♥ for trip jacks, which was enough to earn him the pot and eliminate Nguyen, who revealed Q♦J♣ for the same trips with a worse kicker.
