Event #60: $3,000 Limit Hold'em (6-Handed) has officially concluded at the 2025 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, where Moshe Gavrieli achieved his dream of becoming a WSOP champion. After a strong and consistent showing at the final table, Gavrieli secured his first WSOP gold bracelet and the top payout of $200,303.

The tournament drew 343 entries, generating a $915,810 prize pool, with only 11 players surviving to Day 3. Gavrieli closed out the victory in style, defeating WSOP Player of the Year frontrunner Scott Bohlman in heads-up play to earn the biggest score of his career.

Winner's Reaction

Gavrieli could barely contain his excitement after capturing his first WSOP bracelet.

"I'm very excited. It’s a dream come true," Gavrieli said with a smile moments after his win. He credited his disciplined strategy and fair card distribution for the victory when heads-up against Bohlman. "I feel I was just dominating him, I had it almost every time, except once when I bluffed and he caught me but 99% of the time I had real hands because of card distribution," he explained. "He's an amazing player, but everything just went my way today."

For Gavrieli, a longtime house painter from Oakland, California, poker started later in life. He began playing in his mid-30s with friends in casual home cash limit games, “Shout out to my Israeli buddies,” he said. “We’ve been playing home games together for years. They’re my best friends and they know me better than anyone, this win is for them too.”

"I never dreamed I’d win a bracelet. I came out for five days just to play this tournament. I don't even have a hotel or a flight home right now," he laughed.

Despite the life-changing achievement, Gavrieli insists that his everyday life won’t change. "I’m a house painter. I’ve got a job, a girlfriend, and employees. I’ll come out here maybe once or twice a year to play, but that’s it. I’m going back to work." Still, he understands the significance of the moment "Poker is my hobby, my sport, my competition. I just wanted to prove something and now I did. This means everything."

Final Day Surge from Second-to-Last To Victory

Gavrieli entered the day near the bottom of the chip counts, but that did not phase him from creating an epic comeback. Gavrieli was patient and disciplined early on which helped him pick his spots well, avoiding major confrontations with larger stacks but also chipping up at the same time.

At one point, he lost a sizable pot to Ian Pelz after getting rivered in a multi-street hand, briefly stalling his momentum. But Gavrieli bounced back, and his turning point came during four-handed play when he picked up pocket aces against Nicholas Tsoukalas’ queen-ten. Tsoukalas moved all in on the turn and Gavrieli snap-called. That hand propelled Gavrieli to the overwhelming chip lead and he never looked back.

Heads-up play against Bohlman, who was looking for his second bracelet of the summer, saw Gavrieli maintain consistent control and momentum. He leveraged his chip lead effectively, applying steady pressure and forcing Bohlman into difficult spots. While Bohlman looked for opportunities to shift the dynamic, Gavrieli's aggression and solid card distribution carried him through. In the end, his composure and experience secured him the title.
