Josic Doubles Through Koppel

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The stack of Perica Josic on the button was counted out as he had just doubled through Yanki Koppel in the small blind with {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} versus {9-Clubs}{8-Spades} on a {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Clubs} board. Josic doubled for 245,500 and that vaulted him above half a million in chips.

Shortly after, he raised and Koppel jammed the last 44,500 from one seat over, Josic called.

Yanki Koppel: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Perica Josic: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}

The board came {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Koppel got a fraction of his previous stack back.

Brokos Relieved to See the Back of "Tough Table"

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Andrew Brokos
Andrew Brokos

Andrew Brokos appears to be the chip leader in the Main Event currently, and his table was about to break. With a lull in proceedings as Brokos waited for the final hand to finish out, he kindly answered a few of our questions.

"I got aces versus kings and that's been my day so far!" he said. "This was a pretty tough table so I'm happy to see what fate has in store for me...spin the wheel."

And how much does he want to bag now he's reached the heady heights of severe-figure stack territory?

"I would be happy to finish the day with half this!"

Jake Schindler raised pre-flop and was re-raised all in which Schindler called quickly. He was well ahead with {a-}{k-} against the {k-}{q-} of his opponent. The board was queenless as it ran out {3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and secured Schindler the double up and continue to build his stack up from his earlier day short stack.

Also, a few other selected chip counts around pavilion green.

Milliard Bluff-Shoves River

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

On a {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{k-Diamonds} board, one opponent checked to start-of-day chip leader Julian Milliard who shoved all in with 150,000 in the pot. His opponent had around 120,000 behind, but eventually folded.

Milliard showed {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} face up for the bluff. "Maybe don't post that one," he said.

Nguyen Busts With Kings

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen

A few minutes ago, Scotty Nguyen moved tables and was caught by the ESPN crew. "I am moving to table 407, baby," he said. A few minutes later, however, Nguyen was no longer to be featured on said table.

According to the ESPN camera crew, he was all in preflop and Marios Savvides, as well as Clayton Fletcher, called. On a {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop, Savvides bet and that forced out Fletcher.

Nguyen turned over kings and Savvides had {a-}{q-} to remain ahead on a {9-} turn and {q-} river run out.

The flop read {8-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and the player in the middle position checked. Eric Baldwin bet 18,000 which his opponent called.

The turn was the {9-Spades} and Baldwin's opponent checked once more. Baldwin now fired a bet of 36,000 over the line which was enough for him to pick up the pot.
