Stephen Graner was the first player to knock out an opponent from the 2026 WSOP Main Event but he won't be the one to claim the coveted gold bracelet. Before the dinner break he had already been chipped down below the starting stack and then jammed the button for around 28,000. Kilian Pousset called in the big blind with the covering stack and the cards were flipped over.

The board ran out Q♦9♠4♠J♣8♠ and the superior pair of Pousset sent Graner to the rail.
Leo Bernick never sat down on Day 2abc, according to his tablemates. Bernick began the day with 52,800, but his stack was subjected to the eternal grind of the blinds as it dwindled incrementally.
Bernick's stack eventually was blinded out completely as his no-show resulted in his elimination.
Arsenii Karmatckii put the pressure on Yoshihito Sugimoto from the small blind with a jam, and Sugimoto called out of the big blind to be at risk for approximately 36,000.

Sugimoto held the best of it with five cards to go, but that all changed after the first three cards when the dealer fanned out 7♣9♥10♠ to give Karmatckii the lead with a pair of tens.
The 5♥ turn was of no consequence, and the 8♣ river was the final card Sugimoto would see as he busted from the tournament.
Gabriel Mirel opened to 3,500 on the button and Daniel Baldev three-bet to 10,500 from the small blind. Mirel moved in a 148,500 stack to cover Baldev's remaining 49,500 chips. Baldev tank-called and the players went to showdown.

Baldev stood at the table after seeing the 8♥J♠9♠ flop as Mirel picked up top pair.
The J♣ turn saw Mirel improve even more, and Baldev hit the rail after the 5♠ river fell.
The hand was picked up on the turn, with the board reading 6♥7♥K♠9♥. Alex Paredes had moved all in from the button with his last 26,000.

Paredes had a pair of kings, but was drawing dead on the river, thanks to Siegl's straight flush. Paredes was drawing so dead in fact that he started walking off and the dealer began pushing the pot to Seigl.
"Wait, the river!" Seigl said to the confused dealer, who had to ask why they wanted him to stop.
Paredes paused, looked back and stood for half a beat as the 4♦ finally started to come, and he was in mid-stride when it hit the table.
Farah Galfond raised to 2,500 on the button, and Hertsel Levy defended his big blind.
Galfond fired out a bet of 1,500 when the flop came 6♠Q♦A♠, and Levy called. The J♠ on the turn saw Galfond fire out another bet of 5,000 and Levy called again.
The Q♣ on the turn saw Levy lead for 15,000, and after a few moments of thinking Galfond put him all in for around 30,000 more. Levy snap-called.

Galfond's full house sent Levy to the rail and his Main Event came to an end.
The ESPN camera crew rushed to the table to catch the tail end of an all-in showdown between Jourdan Baptiste and James Burns. The latter had his K♥K♦ still exposed, which had flopped the top set and turned a full house on the K♣Q♥9♦9♠5♠ runout.
On his way out, Baptiste asked if he could get away from it and others including Alexandru Gheorghiu shook their head. From what they talked about, Baptiste had flopped the straight with Jx10x.
Bill Fagerbakke, the voice of SpongeBob's Patrick Star, moved all in for 11,200 from the small blind and Yunsheng Sun called on the button.

Fagerbakke remained in the lead on the 4♦2♠K♣ flop, but Sun hit the 8♦ on the turn to move in front. The river was the 4♥ and Fagerbakke's Main Event came to an end.
Scott Sitron was in middle position and was already all in for his last 33,200. He was covered by Damon Fine who was sitting in the hijack.

Sitron was behind and looking for an ace but missed on the J♠7♥9♣ flop. There was some chance of a backdoor straight but, that hope came to an end after the 5♠ was turned.
The K♥ river saw to Sitron's elimination, and he missed out on making it to the dinner break on Day 2abc.
