Jason James raised to 8,000 from under the gun and Amarender Puri called before Lauren Heit in the cutoff got her last 17,000 into the middle. James pushed all in over the top and Puri folded.

The J♣9♣2♠2♣K♥ board provided no help for Heit and she bowed out just before the dinner break.
Action was picked up on the turn of a board reading A♦2♦5♣J♣ with just shy of 50,000 in the middle.
Following a bet from Max Petzelberger, Evan Cutler check-jammed his full stack of 125,000 into the middle, which had Petzelberger in the tank. After some thought, he put in the call.

Petzelberger had a lot to fade, with any four, three, or club awarding Cutler the pot. The 9♥ river was clean as a whistle, as the German stood up in celebration.
David Shaw raised to 9,000 from early position, with Sang Sim calling in the cutoff. Kilo Krahn squeezed to 22,000 from the button, and both Shaw and Sim came along.
Three players saw the 3♠J♦Q♥ flop, and when the action checked to Krahn, he jammed for around 60,000. Shaw got out of the way, but Sim immediately called.

Krahn's bullets had been outflopped by Sim's top two pair.
The 7♠ turn and 9♣ river changed nothing, and Krahn became the latest casualty of the Main Event.
Caitlin Comeskey opened to 8,000 from the cutoff and Scott Hempel three-bet to 25,000 on the button. Jonathan Wahnich four-bet to 82,000 from the big blind and Comeskey folded. Hempel went into the tank before jamming for 236,000. He was only just covered by Wanhnichs stack who was sitting with only a handful more big blinds than him.

Hempel was behind and needed to improve to stay alive in the Main Event. With a king coming in the window, that looked unlikely, but the full 8♦A♥K♣ flop saw some hope still remain for Hempel.
A 10♦ was turned and nothing changed on the 9♠ river. The dealer verified the counts and Wahnich stacked up, having doubled up with his kings.
Jonathan Stoeber opened the action to 9,000 under the gun. Two doors down, Kevin Killeen called the bet, and action folded to Will Kassouf in the big blind. He pulled out the classic "if you got it you got it," and moved all in for 32,000. Stoeber then got away with a four-bet to 53,000, and Killeen came along for a call.
The 8♣10♠A♥ flop was dealt, and both players contesting the side pot checked, as cameras began to swarm the table. The turn 10♥ had Stoeber rechecking his cards, before placing 12,000 in the middle. Killeen called, bringing in the 9♥ river.
Stoeber went small again, with 16,000 his sizing. Killeen then went into a three-minute tank before finally announcing, "all in." Stoeber snap-folded.

Killeen showed the nut flush, with Kassouf's small pocket pair well behind it. He wished the table luck, photographed the board, and headed off.
Mihai Manole opened to 8,000 from under the gun to start the action. Philip Chun was down to his final 12,000 and chose to go all in from the next seat over. Manole made the call to put Chun at risk.

Chun was in trouble against the higher pocket pair of Manole.
The flop was of little help to Chun as it came Q♠6♦10♠ to keep Manole in the lead.
Just as Chun got up from his chair and wished everyone a good game, the 8♣ peeled to offer a glimmer of hope.
That hope would be unfounded when the 3♥ hit the river to eliminate Chun from contention.
