Level 24 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Ian Matakis
Ian Matakis

Ian Matakis made it 220,000 to go from an early position and left one T-5,000 chip behind on a pay jump. Chongxian Yang then raised to 500,000 in the cutoff and Matthew Costanzo used one time bank before he called on the button.

The blinds both folded and Matakis then glanced at his time bank extensions while checking the other table nearby briefly. He ended up using three of them before calling all-in.

Both active players checked the AQ7 flop and J turn, the J river then saw Yang bet 500,000 and Costanzo called.

Matakis tabled his AK103 for broadway and Yang had the equally strong K1098. However, it was Costanzo who had the best of it with the KQJ9 for jacks full of queens to score the knockout and pull ahead of Yang. Matakis has earned $82,463 for his effort and all remaining players have locked up a six-figure cash prize.

Richard Gryko raised to 350,000 in the hijack, and Ian Matakis three-bet to 1,200,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Gryko, who called.

Gryko checked over to Matakis on a 745 flop, who bet 250,000. Gryko responded with a check-raise all in for 1,300,000, and Matakis beat him into the pot with a call.

Richard Gryko: A754 All in
Ian Matakis: AK86

Matakis had flopped the ace-high flush and looked set to eliminate Gryko, but the deck had other ideas. The 4 turn improved Gryko to a full house, with the A river giving him an even better boat.

Once Matakis paid the double-up, he was left with just a couple of big blinds.

Yang Takes From Gryko

Level 24 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

In a multi-way limped pot to the Q103 flop, the action was checked to Richard Gryko in the cutoff and he made it 175,000 to go. Only Chongxian Yang in the under-the-gun position called before Gryko then asked the dealer for the size of the pot on the K turn after his opponent had checked.

He then bet 425,000 into 850,000 and Yang opted to flat-call, checking again the 2 on the river. Gryko's time to act ran down once to trigger a time bank extension and he eventually knuckled it down with five seconds to spare. Yang tabled his AJ86 for the flush with the jack to win the pot.
