WSOP Main Event

Today at the World Series of Poker, just a single event is played. But it's not just any event and it's definitely not going to be a quiet day; it's time for Day 1c of the WSOP Main Event, traditionally the biggest of all the starting days. This year will be no exception to that rule.

Event #65: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em MAIN EVENT - World Championship

Today, the Americans celebrate their land of the free and the home of the brave. We hope your Independence Day is monumental!

Today is always a day of celebration, but a lot of poker players will spend the day indoors as Day 1c of the World Series of Poker is scheduled. Day 1c is traditionally the biggest of the three starting days, and this year seems no exception. The queue for registration has seemingly seen no end so far, players kept buying in for the biggest poker tournament of the year throughout the two starting days.

Day 1c will be the day Phil Hellmuth makes his entrance. After years of taking it easy with no crazy antics, this year promises to be as exorbitant as in the good old days. Whether you like it or not, Hellmuth always gets the attention when he enters the room. Entering dressed up as Thor or Ironman, as he revealed in his tweets, will sure get some heads turned.

Action gets underway at 11 a.m. and players start with 50,000 in chips. Levels are 120 minutes long throughout the event. After every level, players have a 20-minute break. The dinner break, 60 minutes long, takes place after Level 2 today, which should be around 3:25 p.m.

Late registration for Day 1c of the 2017 WSOP Main Event closes around 6:45 p.m. The day wraps up around 11:00 p.m.
