Tony G Making the Most of his Opportunities

While the Tennis games may not be bouncing Tony G's way, he's certainly making the most of his chances on the felt. He recently picked up six straight minor pots in a row.

We thought that was a lofty achievement but Tony let us know that his record is 13 straight pots won in a row.

Whatever the case the Tony G has 85,000.

Matthew Pearson Off Tilt

Matthew Pearson who discussed with one of our reporters that he is a "one-day" live player, meaning he never survives day 1's, is still hanging on today.

A player at the table who was UTG +1 tried to raise it up, but tossed in the wrong chips and just called. Kelly Kim also called, and Pearson checked in the big blind. The flop came {5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and it was checked to Kelly Kim who bet 1,500. Action folded back to Pearson who raised to 4,000 prompting a quick fold from Kim.

Matty P is now on 13,400.

The Tennis

Melbourne is an exciting time during the summer. Not only are we blown away by the Aussie Million poker action, but the Australian Open is also in full swing. The match playing in the poker room right now is a quarter final between Andy Murray vs. Rafael Nadal. Tony G is watching intently every time he is out of a hand, and was over heard saying that Nadal is just being out classed by Murray. Sounds like Nadal will be on his bike in short order.

The G is sitting nicely on about 70,000.

Bach to the Grind

David Bach
David Bach
Just before the break, David Bach played his last hand of this year's Aussie Millions main event.
As retold by Bach himself:

A player sitting under-the-gun opened with a raise to 1,200. Bach called and when the action reached the big blind, Michael Marcos, he repopped it to 5,000. The UTG player folded and Bach made the call with about 9,000 behind, sending the action heads-up to a {Q-?}{7-?}{5-?} flop.

Moments later, the rest of Bach's 9,000 was in the middle and called, and Bach found his pocket jacks up against Marcos' {7-?}{3-?}.

Needing help, Marcos managed to pair his three on the turn to take the lead in the hand, and he never looked back as the board bricked out entirely, ending Bach's run at an Aussie Millions title.

Bach will be back in action on Friday for the $10,500 H.O.R.S.E. event.

Time Out

The tournament clock has been paused while the remaining players go on their second-to-last break of the day.

Jason Gray is a Machine

On a board of {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, Jason Gray has doubled up an opponent after running his {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} into the other player's {K-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

Gray seems to have earned a reputation at the table as a tough player, with the recipient of the double through saying, "He (Gray) is a machine, he has to be stopped".

We think an overpair, may be a good way to do so. Still the well known Australian pro has 40,000.
