2025 World Series of Poker
Mark Spradlin raised it up from under the gun and Brandon Takao shipped all in for roughly 13,000 in middle position. The action folded back to Spradlin who quickly called to put Takao at risk.
Brandon Takao: A♦K♦
Mark Spradlin: A♠A♣
The flop came 9♦8♥5♦ and Takao picked up a flush draw against Spradlin's pocket aces. The 9♣ on the turn and the 7♥ on the river were no help to Takao who was bounced from the Main Event.
Players were already heads-up on the 7♥5♥3♥ flop with a pot of around 40,000. Paul Douglass moved all in for his remaining 28,500 and action was on Daemon Richardson to make the call or fold.
Richardson moved chips over the line and the players flipped their cards. Richardson went first and said, "I don't even know what I am up against" as he waited for Douglass to show his hand, not realising he has been called.
Paul Douglass: 10♥10♠
Daemon Richardson: K♠K♥
Richardson was ahead, and things stayed that way on the 9♣ turn and 8♦ river, sending Douglass home.
Damon Kroupa got his 115,000 chips in preflop and was at risk against Steven Brooks, who had him covered.
Damon Kroupa: K♠K♣
Steven Brooks: A♠A♥
Kroupa had run into the ultimate cooler, and his Main Event ended when the 4♣9♦6♠5♣2♦ board brought no help.
Brandon Paddock raised to 3,500 from early position only to face a three-bet to 6,500 from John Pointer in middle position. Paddock then four-bet all in for 35,000, and Pointer snap called.
Brandon Paddock: A♠4♦
John Pointer: A♣Q♥
No help for Paddock on the K♣2♦5♥10♥A♦ run out, and he was sent to the rail.
Brian Barker opened to 3,000 in the cutoff and was called by Gregory Sly on the button, John Bunch in the small blind, and Ja Sim in the big blind.
The flop rolled out A♦Q♣J♣ and action checked around to Sly who bet 6,000. Bunch raised to 18,000 which folded out Sim while Barker raised to 32,000. Sly moved all in for 38,000 and Bunch jammed all in over the top which saw Barker fold.
Gregory Sly: A♣J♠
John Bunch: K♦10♣
Bunch had flopped Broadway up against Sly's top and bottom pair. The board ran out 9♠3♦ and Bunch's Broadway held up as the best hand while Sly was eliminated.
"That's a hand even Kessler would be proud of," said Bunch as he raked in the pot.
All the chips went in the middle preflop between Tonci Restovic, who was at risk for a remaining stack around 22,000, holding A♦7♦, and Martin Gerloff who held 6♥6♠.
Restovic couldn't win the flip to survive as the board revealed K♣5♥K♥3♠3♥ and Gerloff took down the pot.
Muskan Sethi open-shoved in middle position for her last 19,000 and it folded to Deborah Nance in the big blind who called:
Muskan Sethi: A♠Q♦
Deborah Nance: A♣K♥
Sethi's hand was dominated and the board 7♥8♥6♥8♦K♣ didn't bring her any help to be eliminated from the event.
Jiwoo Hyul opened up the action with a raise to 3,000. Simas Karaliunas then shoved his remaining 23,000, putting Hyul in a tough spot. "Are you ready?" he asked, upon seeing that there was a reporter at the table. He stood up, and chucked 20,000 into the middle.
Simas Karaliunas: K♥J♣
Jiwoo Hyul: 8♥8♣
The K♣6♦9♦ flop seemed ideal for Karaliunas, but the 8♦ crushed any hope he had left. The 9♠ river boated Hyul up, and Kevin Williams let the table know that he had folded an eight, meaning Hyul hit a one-outer.
