For the second hand in a row, Byungeun Shin went all in. This time, the bet was 535,000, and it was called by Benjamin Winsor in the big blind.
Byungeun Shin: K♥6♥
Benjamin Winsor: A♣10♥
Winsor took a huge lead on the A♠9♠J♥ flop, but runner-runner opportunities emerged on the Q♦ river. The 7♣ river bricked, however, and Shing said goodbye to the Main Event.
Nick Pupillo raised to 100,000 in early position and Kaiwen Chen called on the button. Scott Margereson then reraised to 1,100,000 in the small blind and Pupillo, sucking vociferously on a straw, called while Chen got out of the way.
The flop came 5♥4♥5♠ and Margerson checked over to Pupillo who bet 200,000, enough to put Margereson all in. The tournament clock showed 225 players remaining, and with 224 making the next pay jump, Margereson waited until he heard another dealer across the room shout "payout" before sticking in his last chips.
Scott Margereson: 9♦9♠
Nick Pupillo: K♥K♣
Pupillo had Margereson crushed with his kings, and the UK pro couldn't find any help on the J♦ turn or A♥ river and was sent to the rail.
Vinh Nguyen shoved for 360,000 in early position and Michael Garner put in the call from the cutoff.
Vinh Nguyen: Q♣J♣
Michael Garner: A♥J♥
Nguyen's hand was dominated and he asked to use his 'one-time', which seemed to be working as the 8♥7♣K♣ flop gave him a lot more outs with a flush draw. A 4♠ on the turn was a brick for Nguyen, and he failed to improve on the 6♥ river.
David Swift opened 8♦7♦ to 105,000 from the cutoff and Will Kassouf three-bet to 315,000 from the button with 9♠6♣.
They saw a flop of J♣K♠9♥, where Swift checked and Kassouf bet 500,000. Swift took some time but eventually folded his hand. Kassouf showed the bluff, and added his famous quote.
In the very next hand, Carmino Argiero opened from middle position to 155,000 and Kassouf three-bet the cutoff to 480,000. Argiero then shoved for around 1,000,000, and Kassouf snap-called.
Carmino Argiero: A♣Q♥
Will Kassouf: A♥A♦
Kassouf had found the bullets right after showing a bluff, and was a huge favorite to eliminate Argiero.
A flop of K♠9♦J♣ did give Argiero a gutshot, but he couldn't find it on the 2♣5♠ runout, which ended his Main Event.
Fraser MacIntyre raised to 105,000 from the cutoff, and Rahul Deevara called from the button. Ryan Otto squeezed all in for 415,000, which was only called by MacIntyre.
Ryan Otto:A♠2♥
Fraser MacIntyre: A♣8♠
MacIntyre had the better ace and just had to fade a deuce or some sort of chop to send Otto home. The board ran out Q♣5♣10♣4♦9♣ and MacIntyre improved to a flush to eliminate Otto.
The action folded all the way to Martin Gerloff in the small blind and me moved forward his entire stack which appeared to be more than 1.6 million in chips. Mitchell Hynam glanced at his cards and then instantly called.
Once the cards of Hynam were revealed, Gerloff sunk back into his chair and gasped an "are you f*ckin kidding me?"
Martin Gerloff: A♣J♥
Mitchell Hynam: A♦A♥
The Q♦5♣2♥ flop left Gerloff with some runner-runner equity but that all vanished with the Q♣ turn to make the 6♣ river a formality.
Conor O'Rourke was all in for 375,000 against Jose Bogarin, who had him covered.
Conor O'Rourke: 10♣10♠
Jose Bogarin: A♦10♥
O'Rourke was in great shape to double up as the flop landed 4♣4♦6♦ and the 6♥ turn only created some chop possibilities. But the dealer put down the A♠ river to give Bogarin the winner as O'Rourke was sent to the rail in painful fashion.
